Glast-home-bury 2025

Flicking through the channels I think this is a class line up.

Rodrigo is doing a decent job as a safe headliner. Getting Robert Smith is unreal.

Prodigy have been class. Overmono looks incredible and reminds me of Bicep in 2022 in terms of the production.

Maccabees and Jorja Smith both look like they’re having loads of fun too.

Insane set from progidy and the beebs have nailed it, every camera angle switch is coordinated with the track. Not sure if it's a good thing but I almost feel like I'm there

100% agree 🙌

f**king grim crowd for O-Rods. Lose their mind at her chatting about “loving English sport” but can’t bring themselves to make any sort of noise for *Robert Smith*.

Seems like some of the older acts no longer get the reactions we are used to. Passing of time or different demographic at the festival now?

Not sure how it changes so much with the booking platform nowadays though!

Yeah f**k those 12 year olds for not knowing ol' Bob. I doubt they even have an opinion on whether Disintegration or Pornography is the best Cure album... losers.

At least show a basic level of respect?

I’ve stood in plenty of crowds and clapped for special guests I’ve no knowledge or sometimes affinity for.

Sorry but you're imagining things. Yes it was a muted cheer but there was a cheer.  There was also a huge cheer after each song. Believe me, pop fans cheer and are more positive than any other genre.

It seems like a big part of it for teenage pop stans is to competitively belt out every single word to every single song of their fave’s hits- I guess they feel somewhat affronted and betrayed to be presented with any diversion from that in the form of songs that they might not even heard of before. Even if those songs were probably the best part of the set for the rest of us.

Been flicking over to O-Rod while catching up with the Maccabees (who have been excellent) and she's been a brilliant performer. Great to see her just get the festival and delivered a great set. Bringing out Robert Smith is a win in any book.

Livvy Rods kinda / sorta had to plead with them to make some noise for him though?

    • I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either
    • Selfish, but I've done the 2 days I'm there.. i'll try to do the rest through the day but might get beaten to it as it's editable....    https://clashfinder.com/s/ape2026/
    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
    • And all (or all but one) of the secret sets repeats though?
    • 1. Coming with my sister (our 4th Sziget together) 2. 3 days (Thursday-Saturday). Would rather do Tuesday-Thursday but not enough AL 😞 3. Wednesday evening  4. Apartment  5. FATM (will be my 10th Florence’s gig) 6. Parcels/Paris Paloma
