Oh jees, I hope so. They have history, they were added late in 2018. I'm sure Bob Smith will put in a word, they've pretty much existed as The Cure's support band for the last few years.

I love seeing both bands on the same bill, but Twilight Sad seriously has to step out of The Cure's shadow.

Gotta love early fake clashfinders 😄

Even this somehow makes more sense than their best suggestion - Water From Your Eyes playing at 6:30PM in Mordor.

Love it when people make these clashfinders but you gotta make them somewhat realistic or it kills the fun.

To be fair, is it that different to Feeble little horse opening the Friday there this year?

Very true. That opening slot on the main stage has to be the toughest slot on the bill to find a good fit. Feeble Little Horse should have played elsewhere so I hope they don't make the same mistake this year.

Best case scenario for early acts at Mordor are names like Ethel Cain in 2024 that will bring a group of devoted fans.

Where do you think Ethel Cain will play? Got some very high profile positions on lineups next summer. Especially the Roskilde one announced today.

Prime nighttime slot at Amazon Music, or like 9pm Mordor.

I could actually see a scenario where Skrillex closes Amazon Music Stage at 3am, and then Mordor has the following schedule:

Ethel Cain at 9pm

PinkPantheress at 10:15pm

The Cure at 11:30pm

Addison Rae at 2am.

Last time she played at Mordor (2024). Second set of the day. I guess she might play at Amazon this year, probably after dark.

Looks pretty damn good that.

The Twilight Sad have played Primavera in 2014 and 2018 I'm sure. It's a pretty huge shadow to escape, I agree The Twilight Sad are brilliant in their own right, but which band would't want to encourage comparison to, or patronage from, The Cure?  It's not like for example The Manics strangely becoming Oasis' support band in the mid to late 90s.

Actually, her music is too basic for the Ciutat programming (which has traditionally been more adventurous), so scratch that.

I don't know in what extent Gabi Ruiz is currently involved in Primavera's programming, but I remember him saying he really enjoys Paramore, in an interview years ago. So I wouldn't scratch that just yet.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
