I reckon it's going to be more trendy newer tiktok stuff than normal and fewer 90s bands than normal for miserable old men like me.

I'm fearing the same, but then again last year was great and I really enjoyed being at Mordor less than usual so either way, as long as we got a great undercard (which we always do) then I'll be happy.

I feel like you're right here regarding Mordor. A lot of us said this year really felt like two festivals happening at once and the truth is this format has worked for them. If I was running a festival and there was a cheat code to selling out and you've got employees relying on you, I'd do it every time.

I'm very happy to come over to the main stage every now and then to see some unoffensive TikTok music and then bury myself in the amazing undercard the rest of the time.

Yeah, they know what they're doing in terms of lineup: throw money at any headliners and subheadliners that shift tickets or have huge buzz about them, keep a smattering indie stuff and a few more obscure things across the site to appease the old guard, enough queer-friendly pop acts to covince terminally online gen z fans that it's always been that sort of festival and hasn't pivoted just because that's where the money is, enough clubby stuff going on to please the electronic Boiler Room heads.

I'm generally fairly cynical about their business practises but last year was the first year where it felt like the throw-everything-together kind of clicked in terms of its curation and the way they broke the site up.

Totally agree! Could spin it as fewer clashes even!

A poster on an irish discussion forum who claims to be in the loop on these things says the following are included. Would probably please quite a few on here. I accept zero blame if any of these don't make the cut, not my insight, just sharing what I read on Boards.ie!! (but also, they've all been mentioned here in one shape or other I think so no surprises...)

The Cure,The XX, Massive Attack, Mac Demarco, Knocked Loose, Addison Rae, Father John Misty, Rilo Kiley and Alex G

This lineup will be very telling in terms of whether the pop headliners paired with a varied undercard will be the blueprint going forward or if it was a one-off due to the opportunity that presented itself with the 3 pop girls last year.

Especially since we know the likes of Radiohead, The Cure, MBV, Massive Attack, NIN etc. might all be available. If they avoid most of these types of headliners, we have our answer.

Well not necessarily since those bands might be around but not exactly available

No, it's true that each of those specifically may not have been able to agree but what I mean is, given the number of "classic Primavera style" headliners touring, the likelihood of almost none of them being possible to book seems low to me. So if none of them show up then I have to assume it's a conscious choice from the organisers to change the approach.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
