I have a screenshot (can't remember source...) of the Avalon line-up that has Alabama 3 as headliner (hoping this is correct!), with Bear's Den and the Big Moon on before them.

Did it show who’s headlining out of Ash/Fratellis. That’s the one that’s troubling me (due to clashes)

Taking it back to the overcrowded debate, a comfortably moderate crowd at the pyramid prior to Brandi Carlile slot, then someone posts on the socials that a roadie has just rolled a big piano onto the stage, 30 minutes later all routes to the field are mayhem.

Don't give those social media posters any ideas.

Has JADE been mentioned on here? She's playing an early set at Woodsies so I reckon she'll get a hefty crowd. Might not shut it down, but might be similar to Barry Can't Swim levels on Park last year.

She’s in Little Mix, field will be absolutely rammo. Actually think it’s a bit of an error putter her in Woodsies tbh.

Can you post said screenshot, would be nice to see the potential list of placements? It’s possible that could’ve been an alphabetical list with Alabama 3, Bears Den and then The Big Moon tbf.

It's probably also fair to say that we (collectively) can fixate on something and not let go of it for a while.

I think that describes the experience, and purpose, of going onto a forum dedicated to Glastonbury festival 😉

I mean, forums in general are frequented by people ranging from geeky to obsessive to somewhere on the spectrum!  We're here chatting about a festival we love, in a lot of cases all year round and even during years when the festival isn't running, so it's not really surprising we get caught up discussing certain things in extreme detail 😂

@Watergirl Ah I think that’s just the alphabetical list from the stage page on the official website. Thanks though!

Ah yes, I didn't realize it was alphabetical.  I did think that Talisk as first act of the day was an odd choice, although it would be kind of cool.  And I would love Alabama 3 as Sunday headliner. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Whilst the mention of kneecap in here is very much valid, and on topic to the thread, can we please keep any other kneecap related discussion to the dedicated thread.

Again, not saying it's off topic, or that anybody has done anything wrong, but for a topic like this one, with the potential to turn into a bin fire, it helps us no end if we can manage it all in one place. 🙂

Would be more likely to see kneecap now than I was last week. Have seen them before and thought they were ace but wouldn’t have gone to see them at G before the pearl clutching lately

I think it’ll be a busy one between the curiosity and support

Can't remember a band stirring up this much controversy since Noel Gallagher's quotes about being bigger than the Beatles and taking drugs is like getting up and having a cup of tea in the morning. Didn't do much harm for Oasis, publicity will be good for Kneecap. I hope they're not cancelled. Sorry if off topic.

Back on topic, Lambrini Girls will be a draw for some of the Weezer crowd?

Red Rum Club will be busy, has left field tent ever been shut down? 😅

It's been busy enough that you can't get in.

Actually, maybe when Corbyn appeared?

Charlie XCX will be so busy that I genuinely think that when the app/clashfinder drops they'll have to seriously consider switching her and Neil Young. It's going to be as busy as Avril, if not slightly worse.

DJO will probably cause a closure at the Woodsies - even if people weren't fussed about the Stranger Things thing, that track is absolutely huge on TikTok.

Lola Young obviously similar but probably not 'quite' as busy as DJO.

Gracie Abrams will be heaving if she's on the Other. Not quite Charlie but Billie Eilish 2019 levels.

Maribou State filled the WH in 2022 so with the 1975 effect and easy access to SE corner I'd expect that to feel the busiest of the main Friday headliners.

Then Noah Kahan would be my guess for the second busiest Pyramid set of the weekend behid Alanis.

I think the Maribou State / Four Tet Clash will probably protect either of those from being too busy. Plus we got Arcadia act that might also play into that clash yet to come.

So while they are certainly having a peaking moment I'm not worried about it causing a shutdown

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
