Secret Sets/TBA 2025

Marcus Mumford was on Jo Whiley's Radio 2 show this evening. I didnt catch all of it but at the end of the interview (about 8:50pm) she asked about festival appearances and any in June and he said "I'm not allowed to say anything. If I do, I'll get in trouble". I'll take that as Mumford and Sons being fairly certain of a secret set this year. Is there any info/intel on them or anyone else?

Yes they did an interview with Chris Moyles a couple of weeks ago which someone shared on here and we came to the same conclusion as they said something like “wink wink, we are not around in June…” and something about always being interviewed when there’s something they can’t reveal. Seems pretty locked in I think. Maybe Woodsies?

Our wicket keeper was about 80. It was proper village green friendly stuff, although some teams would draft in proper players

I am all for this when its against some actual good music and all the lemmings will be seeing Mumfords of all groups instead of anyone else. Has to be Pyramid though on Fri or Sat? Couldnt do that Sun cause of how pre determined the day is already with Mile, Rod and Noah all lined up.

I don't think there is anything stopping them being secret on Saturday, maybe less so Sunday. Call them what you like but they sell a bucket lose of tickets.

Makes sense, they were due to appear back in 2020 before covid struck. And have just nearly sold out their tour later this year

Yes and I think we’d been told it was a Woodsies secret set but now can’t remember where I’d seen that. Still think that’s where they’ll be this year (still hoping in vain for Pulp to be a Pyramid TBA!!!!)

Think most of us were hoping for a pulp tba. I can see them putting Mumfords on the pyramid churnup type slot. Banjos at the ready.

Could they not be a tba in Woodsies, rather than Pyramid? Killers and Kasabian are relativity big acts (admittedly said as someone who has never been into Mumfords....)

Resigned to the fact Pulp will again not appear - Kind of suspecting the tour gap is as much to do with Jarvis attending the festival as anything else -  Though another DJ set with Alexis would be good - and he ocasionally does talks.

 

Time to start Pulp for 2027?

I think with how they handled Foos and with the heat theyve received for crowd control you just play it safe.

Yeah considering they're headlining Radio 1 Big Weekend, a slot that sometimes includes that year's actual Glastonbury headliner, I'd be very surprised if they played Woodsies, The Park or even The Other. Has to be the Pyramid surely
