Indeed.  I'm not entirely aghast at the prospect and my first ever time was pretty much a solo mission - but there will be some things that just wont be the same.

Last year I was solo, but met up at different times and for different sets with folks from this parish (including the ever kind and generous CF).

They were all too nice to tell me to get lost, some other sets I went on my tod and had a great time.  Only weird one for me (as I've written elsewhere here) was being in the crowd at LCD on my own, obviously when they're singing about all my friends I suddenly thought "oh no, time to go".  Luckily plenty of other stages and within 10 minutes I was at something I didn't feel like I was invading someone else's party.

I did deliberately need to spend the weeks before increasing my step count, so I'd be able to be more flexible about stages than I would in a group, also to keep at least slightly capable of navigating on my own - which has been a total failure some years, even after decades.

Managed to scrape 4 tickets at the final whistle this morning! 2 mins before we got the sold out message… So, so grateful to be going back. I’m fortunate that this was my first time in resale but I’d like never to be back there again 😂

Congrats to all those successful! Now to finally let myself check the stage announcements…

I’m panicking a bit as I bought 4 tickets in the resale today but I bought 4 adults instead of 3 adults 1 child.  Can I change it??

At the very least you can just get a refund for the 4th adult until 7th May I think the date is although you will lose the admin fee.

As long as the child is under 12 you don't need a ticket.

If you mean you bought an adult rather than a teen, see should be able to change it as the ticket is the same price. I’m not sure what difference the tickets make to be honest.

Almost no difference. No point changing it. Gate staff won't have any problem allowing a child to use an adult ticket.

The only real consideration is that Teens should theoretically be stopped at the gates (in both directions) unless accompanied. So if they're especially unreliable/trustworthy look to get it changed, otherwise don't bother.

Went as a couple in 23, a family of 5 in 24 and now going solo (on an overnight coach from Glasgow no less) in 25. The only child in me is quietly buzzing about the prospect of not having to make concessions for anyone. Both kids fields are brilliant, but I’ll be quite happy not to set foot in either of them this year!

Not having to compromise / herd cats / detour etc is definitely one advantage.

Offset by noone to bring you back a pint on their toilet trip whilst you stay watching the show - or to hold your space if you do the same.

I was fortunate enough to grab a ticket in the resale this morning, to the person who put their ticket back in the pot, a million thank you’s. You’ve made my day and it hasn’t gone to waste, absolutely buzzing!

Well done!
I stuck two back in as we were recently offered hospitality tickets so I like to think you got one of them. Let’s say it is!,,😉😊

Some cans/a bottle in a bag/cool bag on your back?

That's what I did, or bought drink and poured into metal or shaker bottles.  You don't need to go back to the same space, or if you've met someone else you know (clearly there are plenty there) just do what you ever do.

In 23 we did quite a bit separately then met back up. I’ll never underestimate the friendliness of a Glasto crowd after that. Went to see the Arctic Monkeys solo that night and after quite a few pints needed a wee. Luckily, had made friends with the Irish contingent next to me, they had a massive flag, got Out for a pee and a pint and back to the same spot. I’ll never underestimate a bit of friendly banter with some randoms next to me after that. Same goes for Kasabian last year (after which I left high as a kite), but that’s a story for another day!

I managed to get my group 4 tickets after it had sold out. Put the details in and pressed proceed and it said sold out. Just persevered, took about 10 panicked attempts of back, f5, re-inputting details, twice and eventually went through.

I don’t think I’m gunna change it to be honest.  Sounds like it should be ok to leave it as is

Yes you’ll be fine - teens can use an adult ticket as long as it’s their own ticket. You might just get a query at the gate to check  you are the parent/guardian. We had a few of these on the gates last year! As long as they are with an adult if they are 13-16 years it will be ok.

are you... going?

I am now. Been a rollercoaster of not planning to go, tentatively trying and failing, turning down a work opportunity, turning down a Sunday ticket, not feeling it at all, planning to try in the coach resale, but 24 hours before, I got the heads up on a working spot. After consideration, it saves me the best part of £500, so I gratefully accepted and didn't try (for myself) in the resale.

    • Not my experience. I've always got the size I paid for.
    • Kind of crackers how fast this summer seems to be sailing by. But aye, must be some news soon!
    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.
