Not just you. I faced forwards as I imagine did every Scouser there.

I had to explain to the fella who sourced my Chicago ticket why I wouldn't be doing it.

Heard him talking to a fellow American as they all turned round for it 'he's loyal to his football team'

May as well relay this story, as I sit here jetlagged:

I ended up sat across from another English guy on the train to MetLife. He explained to me that he lost his wife 3 years ago. They used to go watch Oasis together (he'd seen them 40 times) so this was a very important pilgrimage for him. Really moving

I mentioned to him that I had 4 friends in standing, 2 of which I was staying with, so I needed to get down. I had pockets full of wristbands. Was going to try anything.

'I've got a spare standing here you can have. I don't want anything for it, just come in with me'

True to his word - we walked in together, got front pit wristbands and I spent the gig with him + my friends. It turned out he'd been sent another production ticket, as he knew someone in the crew. Said he just wanted it to go to a genuine fan.

Lovely story. Just hoping I didn't take his number down wrong as I want to say thanks again but he hasn't replied!

Between that and getting sorted for face in Chicago off someone I'd never met - a memorable trip, and proof there's still some good people in the world.

Great that mate and from one ICJ to another, that is basically a jib without even trying.

Eddie Beef would be proud of you

I had a similar experience when I was errr...running across America. I'd done a TV interview in Chicago that morning and mentioned I was hoping to find a U2 ticket. A fella who never watches telly decided to watch telly that morning, saw the thing and Facebooked me. Said he had a spare.

"How much you want?"

"Nothing, just come and hang with my buddies and tell us some stories"

Legend.

Weirdly, he later got upgraded to the Red Zone mega VIP bit and still took me. A madness. What a gig.

Also, a fella recognised me at the merch stand and bought me my shirt. It said "I Want To Run 1987" on the front and "I Want To Hide 2017" on the back. 30th anniversary Joshua Tree. Soldier Field - same as Oasis. Maybe my best gig ever.

Trip update, because I'm sure you're all on the edge of your seats:

Bought a Monday seat for MetLife because it was getting desperate. Had four friends in standing - so really needed to find my way in.

I did find my way in, into the very front pit. A lovely story which I'll relay when I'm back.

A very surreal and special experience, in what may be my all-time favourite summer.

Coachella would be nowhere near what the gigs people paid for will be, the crowd will be a lot more subdued and the America or even North America gigs didn't exactly have a loud crowd. I mean people not knowing what the Poznan is at an Oasis gig reaks of we went just because.

Nothing about getting Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, Tyler, Post Malone, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott and Green Day says Oasis.

They will grab Olivia this time though, finally after everyone else.

youre still not getting Gaga or Green Day. and it doesnt matter. Oasis at Coachella means Glastonbury gets them AFTER. doesnt feel that good now does it.

Another belting story and well deserved. Also, the guy on image right somehow managed to go full syrup and thinks he got away with it.

Ha, I know! He was a cool guy though. Huge Bears fan, was a college footballer and blew his knee. Broke down in tears when he got on the pitch as his dream was to play for the Bears. Big guy was Randy. Biker. Nail Salon owner. Cool dude who gave the ticket.

It does, because they won't give a sh*t about playing Coachella. I don't think any established band members do these days, apart from maybe their accountants.

What are you on about? I've seen Oasis already you muppet, I don't care if they play Glastonbury or not so it doesn't feel anything. O-Rod was literally in South America and Mexico right before Coachella and they couldn't grab her in a space she didn't play again until June. You also had a ln event book an artists holding an event that killed people.

You're still not selling your festival out with Lady Gaga and Green Day so I'm not sure what kinda, 'I'll better you win you're going for' but it's clearly not working lol.

I do like those first two

The first being a nod to the world cup is amazing. I went in 94 and the 3rd place match at the rose bowl so its a great homage. Sadly was not able to get any of it. Was running late last night. Might just try to make my own.

Pasadena vibes in the area! Great time. Overall good vibes. It was hot yesterday ( high of 33 ) so there were some medical incidents in the crowd. But i had some irish fans behind me and they were having a ball. You could tell most everyone eas singing along. People went for drinks during the Noel section. Poznan was fun.  Im sure if any of you went to the rose bowl you would pick apart everything about it. But there isnt anywhere like it. Time for another one tonight.
