Don't get me wrong, I'll be in for Oasis tickets wherever they play but it does seem a little odd they would go back to Wembley if the opportunity to do Knebworth was there. Head vs. Heart maybe. 10 nights at Wembley would see more people through the gates than 4 at Knebworth and a large range of hospitality options to boot if money spinning was the number one driver. Which it probably is.

Agreed, they’ve done 7 nights there this tour, I can’t see why they’d focus there. Etihad and Knebworth seem much more appropriate.

It definitely would be a head vs heart decision as the literal only reason to go to Knebworth would be that they had a couple of landmark shows there 30 years previously. By every other possible measure Wembley (or the Olympic Stadium, or Spurs, or Arsenal, or even Twickenham) would be the better choice as they've already got much of what's needed in place whereas Knebworth is a case of build everything from scratch and even then it's still a compromise in many respects. That applies both from the business perspective but also in terms of fan experience.

Being realistic, these days even just 4 nights at Wembley would probably see more people through the gates than 4 at Knebworth. The licencing regarding concerts (and all of the gubbins that goes along with it like emergency procedures, traffic management plans, etc) has  been massively tightened up since the last time a 125k gig was held there (over 21 years ago now) and I think they'd struggle to get a premises licence approved for the full 125k these days. So realistically each night they'd be playing to (approximately) two thirds of what they had at those famous shows.

Where did you get this from? I've heard the same a few weeks ago. I was quite surprised that they think about doing Wembley and Knebworth at the same time but the demand is still huge.

Someone in the Oasis collectors group I am part of, posted a couple of weeks ago that he had heard from the same source that told him about the reunion last year that 10 nights at Wembley and 6 at a Manchester stadium was locked in for 2026. There was no mention of Knebworth.

I have no reason to doubt him, but it is the internet after all so these things always should be taken with a pinch of salt as its probably a case of Chinese whispers.

The demand is there to sell out a year of gigs at Wembley and however many nights at Knebworth. Knebworth seems to be this mythical place to most fans, you will have the same situation as when they announced the initial shows that people will come in from all over the world for it.

They don’t seem to want to go after records, Taylor Swift doing 20 nights at Wembley I can see her doing.

Unlikely. (Not to say she couldn't, let me stress, but think unless she was going to uproot Travis for a good chunk of the year, and depending on future with kids, imagine any long residency would be closer to home.)

Agree that if Oasis are going back to Wembley, they want the record. Another ten shows takes them past Coldplay's total of sixteen - though if we're going to get technical, this is the Live '25 Tour, which could well mean next year's leg counts for stat folks such as myself as something entirely new.

The advantage Coldplay have had is that they're basically, even with a new record, stuck rigidly to the branding, shape and structure as the Music of the Spheres World Tour. Given they already plan to do a load of extra shows under its name in 2027 and 2028 - 138, if Martin is to be believed - imagine the plan is very much for it to not only dethrone Swift as the highest-attended tour (which it already has), but the highest-grossing too.

to be honest i don't think oasis give a s**t about records or things like that. everyone knows they could announce 50 shows a Wembley and have them sold out in a day. they don't have anything to prove with things like that and don't care.

Are we still thinking they may be 2027 Glasto headliners?

They may. It'd be foolish to rule it out at this point - but equally it's a long way from being a certainty.

There's not been any solid info to suggest they are in the frame, but then we're 21 months away from the festival and I don't think there's much solid info about any major acts. Most of the speculation is along the lines of people seeing it as a natural fit / suitable climax to the reunion.

Ultimately it's pretty much going to come down to whether they're still active in 2027, and whether they feel strongly enough about playing that they're prepared to accept a massively lower fee than they're getting elsewhere - both of which would be guesswork at this point.

Tickets for this weekend now starting to appear on twickets. Still difficult to beat those bots though!

I’m trying any I see pop up in the confidence that I’ll never actually be able to complete the purchase.

I really can’t justify the cost of going again  but I’d have to go, if I could 😄

Exactly the same here. I absolutely cannot afford the price of a ticket, nor the travel to London, not the cost of the rest of the trip - food, drink, etc ...

But still - if I can beat the bots then I'm going to have to take advantage of that.

Managed to get two standing tickets for Sunday off a friend's family member who isn't able to go. Absolutely delighted. Had completely written off my chances after not getting a sniff at any of the first round of UK dates.

I am resigned to being in London this weekend but not going. Even so, hearing stories like this is great, well done!

Yes, they were premium

tickets at face  value, just shows though how sought after they are.

Yup, people willing to fork out huge amounts. Although in fairness it’s a great show and if you have that type of money it’s worth it I guess 🤷🏼‍♂️
