I have this continuously growing fear that my piss break between Bob Vylan and Kneecap will see me unable to get back into the field

Hadn’t even considered this, hoping for cloud and will have to be on the spirits before having a cider for Kneecap. Does anyone know the best spot for a really busy West Holts for sound/good view but also potentially near Brothers?

Don’t think there’s any need to cancel shangri la if people are worried about numbers, access is restricted. Just means you’re not getting anyway near shangri la unless you miss a headliner that night.

I see a few comments saying kneecap support Hamas and Hezbollah. No they don’t. Happy to clear that one up.

Btw I look forward to seeing any act singing a rebel song in a Glaswegian pub this weekend arrested for being terrorists, which I can only assume will happen given this sudden shift in policy towards musicians and their on stage expressions.

If you can make front left that's better than front right which can get a bit crushy for the really big sets. Do bear in mind that crusts do appear regularly in the West Holts and a few 'sorrys' 'just finding my way back to my girlfriend/boyfriend' and squeezing through can result in much more spacious surroundings and better views as long as you can put up with the odd moan and shove.

If you're just trying to be provocative, you’ll probably get the reaction you're looking for. But if you’re actually interested in a fair and consistent conversation about state violence and accountability, I would imagine most people would welcome that

yeah right

Personally i'm gonna stay well away from this.  We on a relatively sensible forum discuss the nuance between states, their people, their governments, their militaries, and we still struggle.

Get a field of groups of people with their flags and footballification (you just know based on this people are going to take Hamas/Hezbollah flags, which will upset a lot of people way more than a palestine flag), and the emotive topics of whats going on in Gaza and the October 7th.  I'm worried its going to introduce a really unpleasant element.  I just hope it doesnt escalate into more than just shoutiness.

I'll see how it is looking..if it's rammed I probably won't be arsed...but depends on what others in my group think and what else is on.

Which is the fear from the Scottish police having to deal with the Transmt crowd. Throw in the traditional football rivalries in Glasgow and they may have justified concerns.

Have you been to glastonbury? People will not bring Hamas flags ffs. Also “footballification” in this country, with very few limited exceptions, is very right wing (I say that as a football fan and away traveller). You’re not getting any of that at a kneecap gig, and at glasto of all places

people shouting along to the songs or chanting free Palestine? Yes

12 times.   they absolutely will.

It only takes a small element, and footballification happens whenever things get tribal.

Very few is non-zero.  In a field of 20,000 lets say 99% are sensible, that still leaves a possible 200 idiots in a kettled in crowd!

Will one of those decide its a good idea to point to what the guy has been arrested for and take a hamas/hezbolla flag?  Theres a very good chance (we've all seen pro-palestine marches where the press tag the entire crowd based on one persons ill-thought sign).  Will that lead to further agro?  possibly.

Just not worth the risk going anywhere near it.

100% and this has very little to do with Israel/Palestine in Scotland. The violent sectarianism in Glasgow can go off very easily and doesn't need much of a spark. Bear in mind the police in Scotland are getting very f**king tired of policing the sectarian morons on both sides. Totally different situation to Glastonbury.
