Why is there something rather than nothing?

Hello bamber,

Is there something? Maybe 'it's' all nothing. Even the bits which you think are something - including yourself, are nothing.

PS -  Regarding   I wouldn't change a thing - if I had to live my life all over.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

― Hunter S. Thompson, The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967

The why is there something rather than nothing question is the most profound question in my opinion.

It strikes at the heart of the nature of consciousness problem.

If and what any answer might be to the question, is forever beyond the faintest horizon.

Hunter just  loved to get f**ked up, blew his brains out in the end. That is something rather than nothing, but why?

Is there a why? Maybe Hunter blowing his brains out was nothing also. Mind you, in reality, I suspect that it was a blessed release for Hunter. Unless, of course, there was something waiting for him 'after' which would not have been to his liking.

I've asked this question on this site before, and it seems apt to do so again now

Do you think that God ever suffers from existential angst?

Why do people bring in trolleys full of awful beer? (carlsberg, fosters, carling.....)

Its a means to an end. That end is the lash.

It all tastes like old radiator water when its been in a 35c tent for 3 days and it all comes out the same colour in the end.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
    • Maybe Starmer's legacy will be a war with Russia.
    • How were GnR? Seen some videos and pictures and let's just say, the crowd to the sides at the front and in front of the sound tents were let's just say... Sparse compared to LB.
