I thought these LA Fire Aid shows were being streamed somewhere tbf.

If you're gonna go tomorrow, you probably need to go to the airport immediately.

Ignoring the irony of transatlantic flights to watch Fire Aid concerts! 🤣

Tbf I've seen some already doing so. Rod Stewart's backing band, for one.

But it's like how there were acts who refused to do the famed Live Earth anti-climate change gigs in 2007 because they couldn't got there without using private jets and others who would turn up with one private jet per bandmember.

Haha that should be it's not speculating if that's how it is, is he. I don't think he's saying it from not actually having evidence for it.

Can I ask again, who is it?

It's Ken from the Werchter thread, he's very in the know on there and obviously a lot of acts that come over and get involved there will also be at Glastonbury.

I thought you didn't listen to rumours from good sources

No… who are the artists that were touring 2025 that have postponed to 2026 due to the wildfires?

Only big name I can think of to definitively delay things for now was Beyonce. Dunno if there's any talk of when she might pipe up with the original plan to announce in mid-January.

Probably next week. The Grammys are this weekend. Its an easy play to announce a tour right after you win or have a commercial during the broadcast. If Beyonce was gonna cancel or postpone all of this I think she would have enough sense to say something at this point. And I dont think anyone would have a problem if the tour sales were for next year either.

Ken was incorrect more often than he was correct the last couple of months though. He'll definitely know something inside-y now and then (I'm guessing he receives press letters and so on), but he doesn't really feel like a very 'close to the fire' person. That 'artists postponing a year because of the wildfires' bit feels very bullocks.

    • 2 really good albums IMO. Fun, really good musicians, energetic, can dance to it.    I'd take that over the couple of dozen twee ernest singer songwriter 2 chord dross acts on the bill most years.
    • They will have strictly 14 days to comply, at the end of which they will strictly have another 14 days to comply.
    • Bonobo has a new album out in September.  Touring the US the end of this year, so hopefully UK dates and festivals in 2027.  Would make a superb Park headliner.
    • I was following up to pink_triangle's post about what Reform are saying they will do to find money for defence spending.   But with Labour, they may well water down or delay some of the net zero commitments, they may find ways to cut welfare spending with Pat McFadden's welfare review thing, but I don't think it's going to be near enough. They really tied themselves down with the tax commitments in their manifesto, just reversing Hunt's NI cuts would have gone a long way. Under Burnham I think they may try and reform some of the tax system, land taxes and levies etc. Certainly needs reforming. But that might all be after a general election if Labour were to win.  I reckon they will try and do something with fiscal rules to borrow more, and try and persuade markets to go along with them.  (and he's already rowed back on that waspi thing...I think his team and others in Labour had a word).
