Itโ€™s similar for me to people saying they wonโ€™t see someone again because it was so good the previous time and people donโ€™t want to spoil a good memory โ€ฆ. Maybe itโ€™s because my memory is rubbish though ๐Ÿ˜€

Iโ€™ve read on here a post by someone saying they hope Pulp donโ€™t headline again as it would spoil the memory of their legendary headline set. Their best known appearance was of course when they stood in for the Stone Roses in โ€˜95, but headlined again in โ€˜98. Not so many people refer to that one. Their current show is terrific and would only enhance their Glasto reputation.

i think some people can be territorial over what theyโ€™ve seen at Glasto (and elsewhere of course) and are reluctant for the artists to repeat it and allow others to experience and enjoy it too

Interesting way if looking at it but I think there might be some truth in that. Like it dilutes the experience, makes it less special somehow.

Imagine the scenes!ย

I do think she's a once and done though.ย  She done it well too, so there's no real need to revisit and risk damaging her Glasto legacy.

well she did Coachella and that

makes Glasto look like a primary school play. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

if she wanted to do it again thats her decision. Nothings getting ruined.ย

Not for me. I saw McCartney at the O2 last week, and whilst Iโ€™ve seen gigs of his Iโ€™ve enjoyed more (mainly because heโ€™s best experienced in a large outdoor setting IMO), I still really enjoyed it and it didnโ€™t take anything away from Glasto and all the rest.
If I really like an artist, ย chances are Iโ€™ll see them multiple times, and obviously some are going to be better, or more memorable, than others. Iโ€™d never think โ€˜I hope they stop touring now as that will never be betteredโ€™

Actual LOLย

ย

Did she headline Coachella a second time?ย  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think she did.ย

ย

And fair play to you, racking up those air miles to attend a primary school play.

Spurs, more like a GS gorge than a hole

Didn't she play 5 nights at Tottenham Stadium recently?

ย

Feels like turning up at another stadium might be a likelier shout tbh.

ย

EDIT: Ah I wasn't aware but in September there was an Evening Standard article suggesting she was going to announce another 5 night run at that stadium, to go with the 2023 residency that was also 5 nights at Daniel Levy's place.

Yeah I've just realised what I wrote wasn't clear. I agree with what you are saying. The stuff about it 'diluting' a previous show was what I imagine someone who doesn't want an artist to play again (such as Pulp in your example) might say. And is a bit mad.

ย

Also, which night were you at the O2? Did you get Ringo?

I did, yes. Purposely went for the last date of the tour, fingers crossed that no-more were added. Never seen him on a pre-Christmas tour, so gettingย Wonderful Christmastime was great, but witnessing two Beatles together for the first time was a big deal for me โœŒ๐Ÿผ

ย

Suprefan deems Glastonbury a Primary School play.

ย

Primary School plays being something you only ever attend to watch your child.

ย

Suprefan attends Glastonbury year in year out.

ย

Conclusion- Suprefan is Chris Martins father

They presumably also hoover up a lot of cash, which likely puts them outside the budget that the Other Stage have at their disposal.

ย

The reason they stopped having big productions was because of the cost. Much better to have a reasonably priced ticket and just use some strobes and fog. But it will be interesting to see what they got up their sleeve by going bak to large venues again.

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind; ย  Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?ย  ย  That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.ย ย  ย
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.ย  ย  Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive. ย  Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!ย  ย  What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
