The July dates do seem to point to an appearance but the ‘it will not be televised’ seems quite final…

I wonder if they might do a non-televised ‘secret set’ on the pyramid as a warm up? In the style of the foos. ??

Glastonbury wouldn't be their own show though. The way I'm reading it, Noel is referring to the shows announced this morning that will not be televised. I still think they will headline Glastonbury next year, it's just gonna be waiting for that official announcement.

Nobody else observing that they are playing every weekend of the summer and start right after Glastonbury weekend? To me when I saw the dates that was a guarantee.

Of course it could all be a big bluff.😉 The festival media partners, the Guardian and BBC, the band all were very quick to rule it out.  Almost coordinated statements. Maybe an announcement later when tickets are sold, any other dates added and past the Glastonbury ticket sale.

now that’s what’s called grasping at straws😉😊

Seems quite unequivocal that they won't be at Glastonbury.  Some serious straw clutching going on here gang!

100% agree ... not a chance , so much stuff now saying that they wont ... I suspect Emily will also quash the rumour at some point too

Much like (just over) a year ago, when there were quite a few people who managed to convince themselves that Taylor Swift was going to park her record setting world tour for a night, and jet over to Pilton to do something completely different. Absolutely couldn't be dissuaded no matter what, despite all evidence, right up until the added dates meant it became literally impossible for her to do it.

They are not Playing Glastonbury.................. if they did a festival, which they won't, it would be IOW who pay loads.

There is no purpose to them at all to do GF which is why it has been ruled out.

Not sure IOW have paid loads for someone for about a decade - its pretty budget nowadays

Between 8 and 9 this morning they reported it live at 8 and then did an interview with someone who recently interviewed Noel. Then they go away for a few other stories and Segway it in as a live update on the Oasis story.

Cheers!

And here it is...

Innit.  If the band genuinely told the BBC it's not happening I'd take it at fave value.

i don’t think they will play but not seen anything from the BBC that the band has told them anything.

All I can find is this:

A Glastonbury slot? Definitely, maybe... for nowpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time

11:18 BST

Ahead of today's reunion announcement, rumours swirled that Oasis could headline Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage for a third time as part of their return next summer, having previously done so in 1995 and 2004.

So what's the story?

Well, while the band have so far only officially confirmed the stadium dates as their sole "European shows", they haven't explicitly ruled out a festival appearance.

Were they to rock up at Worthy Farm, it would fall in late June, before they set off on the opening UK leg of their world tour in July.

    • Judging by last night at Wembley, Luke Combs should be in the conversation of headliner. The UK is having a moment with country music so I don't think it would be particularly left field either.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
    • I have a spare campervan pass to get rid of.  unable to use Kaboodle as it is only entry that they re-sell
