I don't think anyone has actually "disappointed" me as such - in that everyone i like that i have seen i have enjoyed (i think so anyway... after so long things kinda blur together).
but things that stand out to me are:
U2 - for one of the biggest bands on the planet, they were absolute shite. but i've never been a fan, and i hate Bono and i only went to see them because Mrs -TLR- is a huge fan... so i wouldnt say i was disappointed.
Janet Jackson - one of the shittest things i have ever seen in my whole life. but it was like a movie that is so bad that it goes full circle and comes back round to being so terrible but in a weird way becomes comedy genius. but again, i really couldn't care less about Janet Jackson so i can't say i was dissapointed.
Ive been really lucky over the last 20 years going without missing one so the stand out disappointments for me that I just walked away from were Wombats on other stage in 2019 Gorilliaz in 2010 can't believe I missed Flaming lips for this shite show
I agree 2023 felt flat and lacking energy, though I loved 2013 and they've been class at other gigs I've seen them in their modern era....but in their defence didn't they cancel Dublin the week before so they could play glastonbury as alex's voice was going or something. Not really any consolation but this was probably psychologically holding him back from giving his all and affected the gig. Like anything though, a band you like is giving a slightly flat performance of songs you like, you're probably still loving it after a few beers.
