Hoping there’s a decent sized gap between lizzo finishing and Lana starting. Would like to be amongst the crowd for both

GnR prob gets their 3 hours so theyll start at 9 and Lizzo will have finished by 8pm. Lana wouldnt even go on til 10:15 I bet and she would hopefully do 90 mins. So you would potentially get to Other while the previous act is still on and be able to get a decent spot.

Are we thinking Other Stage below Headliner presumably? Please not tent headliners....

A lot of people have been hoping Park headliner.

Fever Ray is going to be an interesting one to see where they end up. If they arent a headliner then I think the tent will be it for them cause that show would look really weird in the light.

Some people seem to think JP headliner, but I think they’ll be on before QOTSA on Other.

Literally zero chance GnR get three hours.

I really wish QOTSA weren't up against elton. Before the announcement I'd hhave put them to sub him. Would've been great for me and made sense.

But for headliners, hot chip, lana and elton suits me.

Any idea who's subbing Arctics?

Who's playing the Sunday night west holts electronic/rave slot?

Wouldn't have thought Leftfield are big enough?

i hope not because they're live stuff is looking pretty good and i don't wanna miss them 😂 but yeah looking at that poster i can't see much past Rudimental but that's a bit of a disappointing booking in the slot for me

Leftfield are more like glade size

i'm thinking Underworld atm, they have a few festival dates to flog tickets for and just announced some small shows.

Macca was just shy of 3 hours and went over curfew. Elton is getting 2 1/2 cause thats the length of show this tour and clearly they arent going to cut his set short. So whats the difference in GnR being allotted 3 hours since they play about 2 hours 45 mins.

Absolutely no chance they get more than Macca, Stones and every other header ever

Makes sense tbf, they get the little bump up from Last time and they’re like great mates and all that with AM

Its also a nice story as Matt Helders wore a Royal Blood t shirt during their headline set 10 years ago, before Royal Blood had even released a single. And here we are 10 years later...

What about Fatboy Slim for this spot? Or do you think he’ll just be playing a few sets across the weekend? Currently on a UK arena tour

I would bet Beth Orton for either Park or Avalon.   Hoping for Avalon actually, because I think the sounds on her latest record would be better suited for a tent.

I'm realizing that from what we know of the lineup thus far (and with the smaller number of acts listed on the poster) The Park is probably the stage we know the least amount of names for.

Looking back at the initial ‘22 poster we actually had a fair chunk of Park acts straight off the bat - all three headliners and a bunch more. Obviously this years poster has fewer acts, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we’ve already got a bunch of Park acts on there but just don’t realise it, especially as the headliners are so hard to predict as they often could also be Other or John Peel acts instead (don’t think anybody was predicting Jessie Ware to headline the Park, for example).

Although all that said, only Fever Ray from this years poster strikes me as an obvious Park act, so maybe they’re saving it for the individual poster a bit more this year.

    • Best of all is to get the tram, then call a taxi for very short not-rip-off ride once in the centre.
    • Would you decide to go once more I recommend to queu up at the ‘official’ freenow taxi line ( 5 min walk from the main gate). It might take 15 min or so but they are not ripping you off. Even at 3 or 4 in the night it costed us about 25eur to the city center.
    • How do you mean? Better as a hotel/ festival combo?   I've done rock am ring at both sites.....unpopular opinion I much preferred the mending site and really didn't like the long and narrow main stage at RaR.
    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
