panda97
I've only listened just the once so far but really enjoyed it, need to give it another listen though

First album since 2014 and features Bruce Springsteen on one track. It’s Different from their earlier stuff but they’re still the best band in the world. They’re in the UK in July for 2000 Trees but sadly it’s billed as a UK festival exclusive. I'd call myself a Gaslight fan, but I didn't like this album. It was so slow and monotone. It sounded like none of them actually wanted to be recording, which given their track history sounds about right. Probably the most boring album of the year for me. Even the Bruce track was just lacklustre.

polnico
New song from Lysistrata, french noise rock band. Really loving the evolution of this band, this first single slaps.

maelzoid
2023. The year in which the most anticipated music releases were from the Rolling Stones and the Beatles... Now & Then is rather forgettable. Sounds like Noel Gallagher.

CaledonianGonzo
Better than Free As A Bird, but not as good as Real Love.
The Nal
Certainly rewarded by a few listens but still prefer the other two
CaledonianGonzo
Whatever AI wizardry it took, John's voice is spine-tingling. Especially noticable when you listen back to the 90s tracks. Edited November 2, 2023 by CaledonianGonzo
st dan
Two absolutely cracking albums from There Will Be Fireworks and Hotline TNT today.
FloopFiller
Not a whole lot for me today, but the two albums I was interested in - Empty Country (ex-Cymbals Eat Guitars) and Green Lung - are both brilliant.
Riggins
Going to give a few of those mentioned in this thread ago. Only thing I saw out today was new Kevin Abstract (Brockhampton), will give that a go. Looked ahead to the next few months and saw little to look forward to, looking forward to the end of year lists to see what I missed
FloopFiller
Completely forgot it was out today but the debut album from Spiritual Cramp is ace - a more upbeat (and generally better) addition to the post-punk stuff coming out the last few years. st dan
There Will Be Fireworks album really is incredible - had it on repeat all day. Making a late surge for a high placing in my AOTY listing. For those who are not familiar, I strongly recommend a listen.
Mardy
New Jockstrap thing out today. Can't wait to get stuck into that, the debut album one of my favourites of the last few years. Such an amazing band.

Both names I’ve seen knocking about but never checked out and really enjoying both, especially There Will Be Fireworks - proper lovely stuff. Cheers for the recommendations.
CaledonianGonzo
Not *that* new but I just need to vent somewhere - that new single by The Streets is the worst thing I've ever f**king heard.

Badlands
Must have heard A Hard Days Night a thousand times but only today did I realise their was bongos on it. Bot hit and miss for me. Red Album and Magical Mystery Tour are ace. Walrus and Bulldog not so much.
CaledonianGonzo
Just picked up an immaculate set of Red and Blue originals in my local second-hand-atorium after balking at £140 for, essentially, two albums. I'm guess someone else was upgrading and I get the benefit.
