  1. AO Arena is fine, I wouldn't call it good. It's quite dated and a bit of a nightmare logistically. Plus, it's never not booked. There is demand for another arena of this size in the area because the city is so well-visited, connected and established. There'll be no problems them both co-existing I don't think, and if anything could help consumers by driving prices down if competition did arise. There is demand in the city, supply must increase, that's the long and short of it.
  2. If I don't get to see Keane there on the 5th I'm going to throw fists
  3. Your point works in reverse too. I think Pulp could headline, you don't. There is no right or wrong, and we can debate it forever and ever amen so long as we remain civil. I also think "accepting IOW headliners" is a bit meh, Green Day could easily headline Glasto. Muse headlined IOW in 2022, who have headlined Glasto before and likely will again. Probably many more examples.
  4. Was literally talking about how I'd love to see him but don't think I ever will. Begging for him to come up norf
  5. All terrible takes. Watch footage from Pulp and Blur shows, then come back. What is a reunion for reunions sake? Why do they not "deserve" a headline slot simply because they have reformed? It's usually the other way around. Idles have sold out Manc Apollo twice and close to selling it a third time, that's around 10k over 3 nights. Chemical Brothers played Manc Arena on the back of an album, Pulp would sell it out without an album, Idles would also do the same. Not a clue what point you're trying to make.
  6. This is the kind of thing I love to see. Take a risk, get a good line-up, and just go for it. If I was anywhere nearer I'd be there. Lil Yachty is quality and that's a decent enough undercard. £50 is cheaper than most tickets nowadays, less than half the price of a Sleep Token ticket for example. Bangin, love it, more of this stuff please.
  7. In an ideal world we fill the undercard with headliner-sized bands. I would also love Pulp to play underneath a bigger band, but Pulp are big enough to headline. You can't get three unreal headliners every year. Stick Pulp on the Friday, put a more modern act on Other, and the majority of people would understand and not argue. The worst comments you'd get are "not for me, I'll be at..."
  8. Yes they could headline. A few wouldn't get it, but they'd watch them, then they'd get it.
  9. Yeah at Nova Rock on the Saturday, so guessing they'll either be the final addition on the Sunday main stage, or final addition on the Friday Opus Stage. If they're shouting about that I suspect we may be in for a final line-up announcement in the next couple of weeks.
  10. When can we expect day tickets to go on sale? Also, what does the below mean? If I, an essential carer, and my partner, accessible ticket holder, want to bring our 4 year-old - do I have to buy a ticket? Can you have an accessible ticket holder, essential companion, and 4 year-old for the price of just the accessible ticket holder? If the essential companion wishes to bring a child/children into Download Festival, then those child/children must be accompanied by another adult who has purchased a ticket

    2024 Headliners

Same thing happened when At The Drive-In played against Kasabian at Leeds 2012. Half-full tent for one of the best performances I've ever seen. I think what we can learn is that Coldplay are playing. You might want to watch them, and you might not, and someone will feel the opposite way to you. You do you, don't worry about the rest, just have a good time.
  12. Someone mentioned in a Glasto thread that the blurred line on the right looks like he is supporting Massive Attack in Bristol, and I think they're right.

There's as strong evidence as for anyone else that she is the final one, yes. But by no means a guarantee.
  14. "Subject to licence" makes me chuckle. Imagine they just don't get the licence.
