All Skybet Glastonbury betting was removed late last night, before we had the Guns N Roses Hyde Park date and Elton John post today.

Tells me enough that they are both going to be confirmed 🤷🏼‍♂️

Looking back at previous screenshot, it actually says the market will close on 1st December. I don't think it's related to any announcements at all.

We had them later than that in the past, think Kylie was December 19th - which would be one day after the final this year

True but that wasn't sandwiched like an announcement on say the 22nd would be as the world cup wasn't before Kylie. Not sure.

----

What happened with GNR sunderland sunday? IF thats the case and AM are a lock on friday doesn't that rule out GNR. I think i've missed something here

Fair enough. Just seemend suspicions thats all! Surely they’d continue to let people place bets on something they didn’t know was a certainty otherwise.

You say this, but I noticed that the event was always "scheduled" for the 1st December. So in the systems' mind it's a live event/happening now etc. I guess they assumed that something would have been announced by now and with all the other announcements etc would be daft to keep it live.

I wasn’t aware it would be taken off today regardless of any rumours. Bookies tend to not get it wrong however 🤷🏼‍♂️ Who knows.

Yep, in fact it briefly came down in November too and was re-added with the new date of December 1st. Might well come back again.

Absolutely no chance the person running the SkyBet book has any inside information about who is headlining Glastonbury.

Bookmakers’ odds in general are given far too much credence on these boards - the bets they accept on markets like this are tiny and they will move the odds or suspend the market on very little money and/or rumours online.

They’ve had so many artists at short prices this year already

I suppose. The Guns N Roses rumours started off a slash of Skybet prices though into odds on. Only time will tell if it proves to be true.

Could Dolly shift the same number of tickets Elton has in the last few years?

I doubt it.

Nope. And in The country realm only Garth and George Strait are the ones who are doing stadiums and selling em out with zero issue currently. Even if Dolly was retiring from touring ( which she essentially did last tour ) they wouldnt book stadiums across the country.

Seems things got spicy overnight.

Elton’s final USA concert was at the Dodgers Stadium, because it was there in 1975 he had one of his most iconic performances. So, a final UK one surely must be something of the same importance. He’s recently done BST, he’s at the London O2 for a string of dates, so I don’t think it’d be them.

Big problem is whether final means last ever gig, or last announced gig. He’s got several European gigs after the Glastonbury dates. Would he really finish in Stockholm on the 8th July? Unlikely I’d think. I suspect he’d finish at Wembley mid-July 2023.

Just seems all to old compared to the fact the festival has become so popular with a younger crowd. If it was these 3, expect 3 mainstream American artists next year to make up for it.

Other option is the Other Stage has some fairly impressive headliners up against them.

That’s the price following the rumour though rather than the other way around. We’ve already seen Taylor Swift, Elton John, Arctic Monkeys, Harry Styles, Eminem, Liam Gallagher, Blur and the 1975 cut to really short prices off the back of some rumours, and they obviously ain’t all correct

The person trading this market for SkyBet will be doing it on the side of whatever sport they usually do or will do lots of other specials betting

Absolutely agree. Need to have a whip round on efests to try and get odds suspended for Led Zep to finally put the use of odds to bed for determining info.

Just found this, not sure how reliable but does that leave us only Saturday (If true)

Sorry if this is a stupid question... But why do we think AM are nailed on for Friday specifically? Is it because they're playing Glasgow on the Sunday? Wouldn't this Sunderland gig (if real) mean GnR are equally unlikely for the Saturday?

    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
    • It'll be all over various Seatfillers based upon previous years at Sandringham
    • The Jayhawks 2026 UK Tour    Sept 15 – Brighton – Corn Exchange  Sept 16 – London – Electric Ballroom Sept 17 – Manchester – Academy 2 Sept 18 – Glasgow – The Garage    For you ‘americana’ lovers. They have a great song book.
    • Weezer just announced a new album & US tour so could add them to the headliner pool. Imagine they’ll do this or trees
