Plenty of more straightforward rock acts have played it before - Paul Simon, Ray Davies, ELO. But if they can book the Spice Girls or Cher for 2024 they absolutely will.

cher is a great shout for the future, and roxy should be booked just because they're touring and bookable.

big roxy music fan here. will be a dream to see them at the O2 this year - cannot wait, and hopefully at GF next year.

they're not to everyone's taste rightly so, and they even divide fans on Eno vs post Eno, debut album, 80s output etc, you name it there is something to disagree on. Their impact on music has been huge and will be a for a long time.

ps me and my wife went to Ferry's solo show at the royal albert hall before Covid and we loved it

Who'd get a better reception...Roxy Music...or Aha?

Roxy Music, by and large, though a-ha do have a trio of certified bangers in Take On MeThe Sun Always Shines on TV and The Living Daylights. (They also have a clutch of excellent second-tier cuts.)

Seen a-ha a few times, actually, with hit-and-miss results. Two full shows a few years apart were pretty ropey, but then caught their "Unplugged" show at the O2 in February 2018 (I think?) and that, bizarrely, remains one of the most terrifically affecting performances I've ever seen.

Would love to see a-ha in the Acoustic Tent. Can guarantee it would not necessarily go over crackerjack though.

Hunting High and Low is up there with the other non Take On Me songs IMHO.

    • Generally shorter too, I imagine. 🙂
    • Will that work for arenas with seats? People will have their tickets on their phones and needs to find their seat.
    • Excellent new release from overpass today - well worth checking out.
    • Having lived here for 2 and a half years now my take is that security, safety and organisation are just not a priority in Spain. It's not even exclusive to festivals. It's a part of everything.   Simple example. I'm Irish and in Ireland if you assemble a construction site you have to adhere to a lot of regulations about cordoning off the site so nobody can enter and get injured. Here, you're walking down the foot path and suddenly without any warning you're in a construction site. If not, you'll suddenly find yourself directed onto the road to get around the construction.   Life is more laid back here in general. Pros and cons.
