my local Bargain Booze has some of that but haven't tried it - will take your recommendation and give it a go!

Give it a go.

Although I'm a firm believer that drinks are enhanced by environment.

Eg Guinness is much better in Dublin, Brothers far nicer when drunk at Glasto etc, so if you're not fond of Mythos here, then book a flight to Santorini for the full experience!

Have actually coped better than expected during the working day due to the curtains and windows closed tactic. Was sweltering last night though and quite amazed I managed to sleep in it! Also quite proud of myself for still going to spin class (although gym is at least air conditioned).

I have a ticket for the cinema tonight and I know that will be blissfully cold when I get there but am really dreading the bus and the tube... anyone here braved the tube this past two days?

I am trying to tell the dog it is too hot to go for a walk. I was saying "No Walk", and then pretending to pant and look hot (not sexy hot, that would be weird and wrong).

Not sure he understands.

It's actually really hard isn't it... Keeping my German Shephard and Golden Retriever locked in the bedroom with the air con. Goldie gets it, and just wants to chill, GSD wonders why I'm locking her up, not taking her out, and won't play... It's really tough 😞

She has absolutely zero sense of her own body temperature, she'd play herself to death in any heat if we let her.

My parents have a Ukrainian lady and her son staying with them at the moment … the son isn’t quite old enough to understand playing ball with the dog isn’t good for her .

Finally the cash I spent in replacing the windows is paying off. 10 degrees less in the house than outside (curtains etc closed early this morning of course.

Just dried laundry outside in about half an hour. My tomatoes are ripening at top speed. Making the most of it.

If the dog does understands walk and you keep saying walk then you're just hyping up the poor pup.

I was saying No Walk. He is very intelligent. He replied, ah ok, let's hope for more reasonable temperatures tomorrow so you can take me out and pick up my shit.

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
