The only times are for 1st poster and full line-up drops, which are quite often 7pm.

To be fair, 7pm is prime social media exposure time.  Efestivals daytime usage isn’t the norm!

Is it too much to ask to have a record of the exact minute of every theatre and circus line up announcement?

Interested in peoples opinions here.

Why do we think Glastonbury choose to announce their lineup the way they do.

I hear that they want those big names in place for the first poster but when most major to mid festivals have announced the bulk of their lineups between Decemeber - March and given that Glastonbury has more artists to announce than most other festivals. I would assume that most artists are locked in, hell if theyve committed to playing a 10 to 30 thousand capacity fest you would think they're also committed to the big G at that time.

Admittedly I am hell of impatient this year but with that has come a little frustration at how late we get names when they obviously have a lot of names they are just sitting on. With the exception of Boomtown going down the no lineup route I cant think of another festival that takes Glastonburys approach.

Apologies if I'm coming negative, I'll be bouncing off the walls again come the next announcement but genuinely interested in how other people feel about it.

Would anyone else like more fanfare of the headline announcement or use of other tactics, puzzles, guess the artists or even sending out leaks (a la Truck) for the undercard.

 

Fingers crossed tomorrow brings something....anything.
