2022 Headliners

That 2014 set of headliners was the weakest in post-fence Glastonbury history, and on the Saturday night in particular the mediocrity extended beyond the Pyramid to almost every major stage. Dunno why anyone would be arsed commemorating that with secret sets.

Depeche Mode do it for the money, a couple of them really don’t like each other.  Oh and they have been asked and the answer I was told was…. They don’t pay enough

They played the 6 music festival a few years back & I can't imagine they were paid a fortune for that?

Pretty funny — on paper — that a Saturday which had Robert Plant, Pixies, ESG, Kelis, Seun Kuti, Jack White, Manics, Goldfrapp, Wolf Alice, Kacey Musgraves and Lana Del Rey variously appearing across the day ended up with Jake Bugg, Dexys, Bryan Ferry, MGMT and Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip as some of the headline options.

Exactly. Baffling. We ended up at Mogwai and it was nice but not what you want from a Saturday night on The Farm.

Why would this matter at all?

Flunked in at #28 in the Hungarian charts. Best to rain check her slot until the third album.

Sulky Lolita's supposed 'breakthrough' album just managed to eek a top position of #24 in South Korea. Hard to see how she's headline material.

    • on another note, 3 weeks too early to tell weather wise, apparently they are expecting a heat wave soon but that will have probably past by the time rw comes around. Grim england this week, doesn't really set the hope too well right now but we'll see.
    • I don't think that the insider has ever got much wrong so it does seem like we'll be getting another act, rw always seem to be pretty good listening to feedback, probably why retention is so high so I guess if they can fill that final slot they will, always looked a bit strange on the schedule
    • There is a misconception that off-site camping is run by neighbouring land owners. The majority rent fields off the land owners (Camp Kerela, Pop Up, Ziggu etc), so yes a farmer may make a few quid more renting to a camping company but relationships with Michael et al mean most prefer to rent to the festival. None of the festival's off-site camping is on their own land; Worthy View, Sticklynch, Campervan East, B&W.    Holt Farm is Steanbow Farms land, so it is likely they would rent to the festival rather than a third party.
