Worth remembering he wasn’t doing 2020 festivals at this point in 2019 either, so it’s definitely not over yet. Certainly not a good sign though.

Because this thread has died a death is Kendrick isn’t back what do you think the trio will look like? Suddenly Billie being busy on the Saturday (the day we expect McCartney to play) doesn’t seem like such an issue anymore. I don’t think @Suprefan is right about Billie having a Sunday date at the O2. No idea why they wouldn’t announce it when the Saturday date sold out. Seems a bit weird to announce another show months later when all the others have sold out.

If the Friday is available she would probably be my first pick, but I wonder who else could step in for Kendrick. If R&L haven’t got Dave I can see it being him… or… Dua.

I’d go for Elton as the most likely replacement if any of the three drop out. Currently I’d go Elton, Macca and Taylor/Billie

Not really that sold on Elton. He’s been in the area around the festival for years and not shown up. There’s never any proximity with him and the festival in terms of glasto wanting to book him, or him wanting to play. I personally think he’s not an option just by gut feeling.

Dua or we riot.

(Have a lovely time regardless of who headlines)

If Kendrick is indeed out (and I fucking hope not) it looks a straight shootout between Reg, Billie and Dua.

If Reg is genuinely keen to play them I can’t see it being anyone else. Dua and Billie aren’t going anywhere and will almost certainly get their shot in the future. It’s getting close to now or never for Elton.

But if rumours are believed Paul is back on the Saturday night.

Is there anything actually pointing to that though? There are rumours he is booked for stuff in Europe around Glasto but I don't think there is anything concrete on even him playing G yet let alone the day that he is playing... (Other than basing it off what we had for 2020)

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?    Just had another thought - Or even rent the land to the festival for CV pitches.......
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
