What does that mean?

It means that if you bet money on trump to win you'll get four times your stake back if Trump wins. If you bet money on Biden to win you'll get a quarter of your stake back as profit if he wins.

The bookies are non partisan and generate odds on date so that they always make a profit.

In a nutshell it means that Trumps chances of winning are getting slimmer.

Back to my Roman republic comparison.  The reason Ceaser threw the dice and crossed the Rubicon was because he was boxed in and facing a lot worse than jail.

Yeah, it's a great comparison. Trump's back is against the wall like no president in living memory. He can't just fuck off to his ranch and paint, when Trump is out of power, he's in deep, deep shit.

Someone on the 'shit...' thread came up with a really good wheeze: Trump resigns, Pence becomes acting president and makes sure he pardons Trump before January.

Or he just emigrates to Moscow.

I saw that. I'm not convinced. PA is Trump's sadly. We'd have to get about 80% of votes left. Ok I guessing now.

17% of the vote to come in. Mainly from postal votes in the large cities which are highly democratic votes.

It’s probably irrelevant anyway but will be the difference between at worst a 270-268 Biden result or the more likely 290-248 Trump result. This is Trumps best possible result. I still have the strong feeling that Biden will end up with 310

Did Wisconsin definitely get called then? BBC more cautious and haven't called it. I'm guessing because of the requested recount?

Doesn’t the BBC have a rule in their political reporting where they won’t publish things unless like results from votes until fully verified?

Could be doable in Philly

550k votes in, about 275k still to come in, Biden currently polling 4 votes to Trump's 1, so perhaps that's around 200k more votes for Biden in the state in that county alone, never mind other urban and suburban areas.  I think it's doable just based on the Philly numbers.  Biden has to make up about 250-300k to take the state.

You're welcome. I'm not into betting but like looking at odds in situations like this as I'm quite keen on maths 🤔

And the good news is that Oddschecher has changed again...in the right direction...

Biden 9/2  Trump 2/9

I don't gamble at all, but it really has been interesting to read reports of how the odds have swung over the last 24 hours.

Are those the right way around?

Looks like its getting hairy at the Detroit vote counting centre with loads of people trying to heckle and intimdate the counters there!!

Apparently 100s of "vote checkers" hovering over people and shouting at them

This is video of people trying to get in

    • What’s everyone’s thoughts on the map?
    • Only took 31 or so hours after the initial reports but yeah, official now. It's been a genuinely bizarre few days with it all, to say nothing of the continual rumours some of the players being on the way out on top of this change.    Certainly, it enhances the vibe that I have no idea what this season will be like. We've had manager departures early in a season before - Dalglish, Gullit, Robson, Keegan - but one walking out halfway through preseason is uncharted territory. And that's to say nothing of a hard pivot towards a Brighton style model.
    • Yep, 2nd round. Labour's Craig vs Reform's Astley.
    • Ultimately much of EU f**ked up with this, instead of showing solidarity they just said and did some stupid sh*t to supposedly punish Spain for their own political reasons. Ultimately its one of the reasons why EU will never fully reach its potential as long as it remains a group of sovereign states.
    • 2nd count apparently.
