So, doubling down, a man who won't acknowledge his own children has just used everyone else's children as deflection when giving a false excuse involving his colleague's child.

How old are his parents anyway? Surely they have to be in their sixties, so even if everything else is true isn’t there a moral issue here too?

Surely his parents should be the absolute last resort for childcare?

Edit: they’re in their seventies. I’m surprised more hasn’t been made of this.

Think I read it was his mum's 71st birthday. Who honestly would take their infected wife and self to their 70 year old parent's house?!

Big risk. If a single bit of evidence, a picture, cctv comes out now then surely that becomes a resigning matter for Boris as well?

This is my biggest hope now.

This is the thing. They’ve gone with the ‘Think of the children’ angle, but what about his parents? Officially in an at risk group, yet he’s deliberate put them at risk. My parents are in their seventies, I only saw my mum for the first time this week for a dog walk keeping 2m apart. I was even in two mind about doing this. If I knew I had the virus I wouldn’t go anywhere near them .

The story has changed since then  – he is now claiming he didn't see his parents, just his sister and niece. Almost certainly lies but yeah.

The toughest interviewers I ever worked for were the ones who gave a simple, short, single question where there couldnt be any ambiguity about what's being asked. If you didn't answer the question being asked then they would simply push and ask the same direct question again. I dont know why the national media dont follow the same approach, they all seem to be asking vague, long multiple questions to hopefully trip them up somewhere on some part of the question, but in fact all they are doing is giving the interviewee load ways of worming there way out of the fundamental single question being asked. Our national media are very poor interviewers in my opinion

Well he can claim Dom lied to him but that still doesn't stop him looking weak and stupid. He's trying to tough this out but if the Barnard Castle story turns out to be true it's game over surely?

Even then (and I don’t care how big their house is) surely it’s an unnecessary risk? Could they absolutely guarantee the parents wouldn’t pick it up from something after they left? Or that it couldn’t pass from the sister or niece to the parents? One thing is for sure, child or no child being involved I wouldn’t have put my parents at risk in that way.

He was asked, said he looked into it and that he was satisfied with the answer

Maybe looking after the kid was nothing more than a cover story and they just went for a big jolly

    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
    • That Wednesday Razzmatazz slot is one of the best/prime slots!
    • If they fancy chucking something together last knockings, i'm up for it! 😄 Got to get a cat sitter, but i'm 95% there
    • Yes, that's why I think Interpol would be a good fit for the Wednesday so that they don't take up a prime Mordor slot on the other days.
