Unfortunately not that is one of the problems. He lived in Ireland as do some of my other family. The ones in England I don't live that near either so on Wednesday for his funeral only 4 people attended. The rest of us couldn't get over there and I have just been at work all week. Not my most productive week at work. I have plans for this weekend to honour him by listening to his favourite Beatles albums and watching The Life Of Brian his favourite film that we must have watched together lots of times. He particularly enjoyed the cardiac arrest gladiator scene.

Thanks

I know it doesn't help much but you're not alone - my partner and I had to make the hard decision not to have a funeral for her Dad as we would literally have been the only ones there - family are scattered and the local ones have health issues that mean they're shielding. It's strange really, a year ago that would barely have factored as an option.

It's definitely on Monday. Has been confirmed by no. 10.

I'd be pretty annoyed if we can't meet another person socially rather than purely for exercise fairly soon.

I know someone who was out in Bath with their Mum and child, sat on a bench to have a coffee / chat and got told off. Seems so OTT.

yeah, that may be one of the early things to be relaxed, along with schools being back.

I think the ever increasing positive news in regards to the effectiveness of the vaccines (including the reduction of transmission which now looks solid) has meant that opening up may now sooner than they were expecting.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve had to rip up any roadmap that was in place even this time last week.

I'm hopeful that's why all the various leaks have suddenly gone very quiet over the last couple of days...

I ordered my test because of the Zoe app just after Christmas and it's through the same system as all other NHS tests so should take the same amount of time. Mine took 3 days then, I guess because demand was so high for processing!

It told me do one this week too based on fatigue, headaches etc so hope it's a bit quicker!

Cheers ... I’m quite happy the option came through on the email ... don’t think I have it but at the same time it’s nice to be sure and I don’t have to miss work waiting for results from what is likely a sore throat ... and if I booked a proper test I’d be lying and saying I had one of the 4 main symptoms and isolating till the result came back

When are we expecting Johnson and Johnson vaccine to be approved then? And also when is the moderna vaccine arriving here

J+J haven't applied for approval here yet, though they have in the US+EU, possibly because the last estimate I've seen for UK deliveries suggested that they're looking at the second half of the year so quick approval isn't needed.

Moderna should be arriving around Easter, maybe a shade before.

My mum (53) has been invited for the vaccine on Tuesday. She has already had COVID (about 2 months ago) but still great news and shows just how well the roll-out is going if they are down to the lower end of the 50s. I live in Torbay for what it is worth.

kin'ell...I'll be getting vaccinated soon the way things are going....

Ah sounds like yours is a bit different to mine then? I got an email from them asking me to book a test, but the booking system they asked me to use is the same for normal tests. It just has an option to tick if you are on a study and then it has the Zoe option. Anyway hope it's all clear!

It might seem over the top now but remember what the situation was like 6 weeks ago when these restrictions were brought in and at that time nearly everyone was calling for a national lockdown.

Let us out Boris

This is very good news and not least because I read earlier in the week that Mondays roadmap will very much be driven by the most up to date data that Johnson will receive today. It will be very hard to ignore this and not be a bit optimistic on lifting of some restrictions.

Oh yes absolutely know I'm not alone that's what makes me worry about the extent of the issue. I know I am quite lucky to be quite open about my feelings etc. There are lots of people who will bottle it all up and it will reach a crisis point at some time in the future. Give my love to your partner. It's a tough time. My niece sent me some video from my brothers funeral which only 4 people in my family were able to attend and seeing the coffin being wheeled in rather than having pallbearers etc just seemed a sad thing.

Oh and the repeated good news re vaccinated people & transmission.

How long before they start saying 'being vaccinated  reduces transmission' and not ' we don't know'. Cause we do know now really don't we.

i'm expecting a blitz of graphs by-age anytime before end of Monday, as a "here's some good news" and "here's why we can start to open", but also being used as a reason for caution because we're still on the margins for getting very clear data on the vaccine effect.

Yeah that’s how I see it too. I still think they should open up slowly, reviewing the data as they go and to be fair the noise so far is that’s what will happen. But they’ll be able to give some indications and say that by Easter we should be able to do some things again.
