Liverpool is already tier 2. Hearing large swathes of the north will join them tomorrow

Do you like people asking you where you heard things?

This is madness. I stand by my comments from yesterday that this could be the beginning of the end for Johnson. No PM can survive a mistake of this magnitude.

C'mon man, you've just lived through the year 2020.  Anything can happen, so long as it's shit.  His numbers will probably go up.

Any of the fall out will be 2021 though 😉

Based on absolutely nothing other than a spell of desperation and a minor gut feeling I think we could still see Oxford be approved this week... maybe.... I hope

There were a few mentions of Friday ... I can’t remember why that was suggested though ... or if it was based on anything ... in blind hope I’m going for Friday

Manchester will get their well deserved promotion this weekend. I’m delighted for you guys

I hope not, I am not mentally prepared for going back to the Etihad.

I'm actually serious. She said that some tenuous relative was actually working on the approval and was expecting it to be cleared on Friday.

The person I know working on the trial said this week but they're not involved directly in the approval process.

I guess that takes a fair bit of mental preparation 🙂

Joking aside, I am just a little worried people will let their guard down if the pubs open up Xmas week.

Are the pubs reopening everywhere for the five days? Anything else?

If Manchester goes into tier 2 they'd be opening but have to serve food with alcohol.

Ah right, I thought Xmas overrode tiers (read it on here). In London, so still screwed then.

Nah Christmas relaxation is only for 3 households mixing, tier rules still stand.

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
