2021 Headliners

Watching Fleetwood Mac on IOW highlights- not very impressed- looks like they are just going through the motions - crowd looks bored too. Was hoping they might be a headliner one day but now I am not so sure- Queen with Adam Lambert looked a better option ( and I never thought I would say that!)

Just now, Hugh Jass said:

They were good when I saw them at Wembley last year.

Watching their set on Isle of Wight they are struggling big time. If, and a big if, I hope I'd be proved wrong.

I’m currently watching Coldplay at IOW. I’m not a fan and the stick they get is obvious, but one thing you can’t deny is Chris Martin gives absolutely everything every time he performs.

Agree about Kasabian also.

I give everything every time I perform, doesn't mean you should give me the keys to the pymild. I'd give it a go though to be fair.

(Worth pointing out I'm not in a band or a performer of any kind, but I've turned heads with the passion I put into singing Avril Lavigne outloud walking home at 6am)

I was dragged to their 2016 set (still upset at missing LCD) but I have to admit - they were good.

Say Glasto China Syndrome happens and all three Pyramid headliners bail, leaving a haunted wasteland of bands who're maybe not that exciting but they've earned their slot by working their way up the bill and you can't say they don't deserve it and besides they're British.

But nothing else changes on the other main stages....

Could I still theoretically see the Pet Shop Boys, Dua Lipa and The Isleys?

That would work for me.

Yes, if it turns out that the only three acts in headline slots that you'd like to see are playing on different days then theoretically you could see them all.

That's what I'm asking. Or were they all due to play the same night?

Dua Lipa and Pet Shop Boys were Saturday and Sunday respectively on the same stage. I can't recall whether we had confirmation on what night the Isleys would be doing but they were either Saturday or Sunday - Friday they were playing in Leeds. They have the exact same dates around Glasto weekend in 2021 so I can imagine they'll play the same night as they were due to do in 2020.

So all in all you'd have to be hoping the Other headliners shuffle about and dodge Isleys. The Pyramid headliners aren't gonna be Biffy Clyro, Foals and The 1975 though so I don't think your clash quandaries are going to be cleared by this year's headliners dropping out.

Not stressed about clashes when there are two great acts but one obvious choice about which one to see.

Even if it winds up being Ms. Lauryn Hill.

Just bought Miseducation for a snip on vinyl, in the hope that if I listen to it and close my eyes, my brain will paint a picture of what her 2019 should have been.

It’s Kennys birthday. Let’s all wish him well

...

Edit: wait shit. Didn’t ken say that Kendrick doesn’t usually tour around this time of the year? His birthday being a few days before the festival might be what Ken meant!
