Looks very probable and they would take that slot. They are not the "only headline the pyramid" type.

Couple years back they headlined the second stage in Rock Am Ring against Foo Fighters. 

Plus they really fit against Macca. I am very confident about this now.

Not sure if it was mentioned again but we actually have info from September that Dua Lipa is doing it from @endswithMJ, and he has a pretty good track record including Stormzy for 2019 iirc.

It would obviously be a Taylor replacement and it'd be strange that they moved on from her so early... but it seems like something that would happen now. I don't agree with anyone saying that she is undoubtedly big enough but it's something that they could make work without raising many eyebrows (like Stormzy).

Yeah this is what I’m basing it on. Guess it’s always a possibility that they had McCartney and possibly even Kendrick locked in again pretty early but were/are still waiting on Taylor and so have Dua on standby. 

And I gotta disagree on her not being big enough - she’s had a huge year. Obviously she’s not in the big leagues of headliners, but she’s also be a pretty huge OS headliner come festival time next year.

Dental will pick out some shoddy sales for a tour meant to happen in Feb 2021 / at the height of the pandemic as a reason why. Also the sales of a tour announced before future nostalgia was released.

Aye she’s totally big enough at this stage. She wouldn’t stick out at all in the pantheon of Glastonbury headliners. She’s had a huge year in very difficult circumstances.

Maybe Emily’s Instagram post was just a really obvious hint and it’s on for 2021?

I said she’s big enough to get away with it but I’m just disagreeing with the ‘it should have been happening anyway’ choir. OS headliner was a bump with Future Nostalgia in mind and it would have been perfect to set her up to headline on album 3.

Circumstances dictating it happens on album 2 are a bit awkward but I’ll keep comparing with Stormzy that she’s not got a live pedigree to verify that sort of booking yet but is a well-enough known name to make people just get on with it.

Also as a Taylor replacement, it had to be a woman really and when you’ve got a current success story already in the pack then it’s easy peasy.

Absolutely. Why wouldn’t I? Idles have sold out a venue that she is also playing and hasn’t sold out, and they were announced during the pandemic rather than before.

She's one of those that whilst big would become massive because of a successful Glastonbury headline slot

Can’t say it’ll affect me one way or the other. I wasn’t planning to watch Taylor and if Dua replaces her then it makes no difference to my plans.

This. It would actually be better though as would free up an Other stage slot that may be of interest to me.

Pet Shop Boys were meant to be headlining the Other. That was always my plan, assuming they’re rebooked it still will be.

I think he meant that the vacant Dua slot would be Sat, so if you werent interested in Macca then it might give another option

Ah gotcha.

Would it not make more sense to have someone younger up against Macca? The festival were happy to put PSB up against Taylor, so can’t see why they wouldn’t for Dua.

Macca started off with 60% lead which gradually went down as TS got more votes.

Kendrick stayed throughout within the 18-22% region.

I did think their tour dates this year seem a bit weird. Festival slots on the calendar and they’ve ruled themselves out of a few U.K. contenders.

Taylor's numbers only started going up after you posted the poll to the eFests bubble. It's a whole different world out there.

If you'd stuck it on Facebook it would have just been a tirade of "None of them! We want Arctic Monkeys, Led Zep and Queen!"

Gorillaz would be great on the Other. Gives Damon a chance to right the wrong of 2010. They’d have a great crowd on the Other and it could be a fantastic set. I feel like he’s be gagging to get on the G21 post Covid lineup.

I think they’ll go for a younger act to fill any vacant OS slot left by Dua if that’s what happens, and I don’t see it being Gorillaz for that reason. Something like Disclosure makes far more sense, and I’m sure there are a ton of other options, possibly even another bump up from the 2020 lineup.

Whilst I get that argument I think there’s an element we’re forgetting - Emily said they were already talking to some acts about 2021 way before COVID. Gorillaz seemed to announce a series of 2021 dates in a flurry mid-pandemic, which makes me think they always planned to do a 2021 festival tour.

My guess is that they were already pencilled in for Glasto prior to COVID. So it’s putting them into the right slot/a good slot that becomes vacant.
