Thursday Arrival Crew

I'm another Thursday arrivalist. Thanks to the Wednesday crew for snagging the site - all the bars will be pulling perfect pints and the toilets thoroughly well oiled by the time we get there. Good work all.

The excitement of seeing the Wednesday lot arrive is too much! Normally a early doors Wednesday guy but have a Thursday coach this year! Who's got another 24hours of waiting?

Exactly this! The campsite thread is killing me. London 11am coach for this one, I don't know how I'll sleep... we can do this!

As others have said there is plenty of room in Darble & Pylon, but you can also head to the south-west.

Bailey's and even South Park will have room at a squeeze but the best for Thursday arrivals is the green oasis that is Back House tucked between Baileys & Dairy. This one is only opened on Thursday morning and is hidden on all sides by hedges. No through traffic so guaranteed lush green grass.

That sounds like a little oasis. I use the lock ups all the time throughout the festival though so I might stick with pylon to be close to the one next to park farm.

Checking in with the Thursday crew.  I always go on Thursday.  Although every year on the Wednesday night I get home from work and have the "we could just leave now" discussion.  At certain point in that discussion we are definitely going to set off on the Wednesday night.

We always leave on Thursday morning.

Is Back house only ever opened on Thursday morning? as my sister-in-law is arriving around 5am tomorrow and have a group of 15 so was thinking Back house could be a good call for them

Don't know what time it actually opens. It was definitely open by 9 last time. Always worth asking campsite crew when arriving.

Work done. Now to finish packing, then drink something alcoholic.

Drop the kid off at Nursery tomorrow then on the Glasto trail at 9.30am.

All being well, we’ll be set up with a cider in hand at 1pm.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
