Where have you seen this? I can’t find anything and the recent consensus is that their album is finally coming late September.

How would people have felt if this years festival had happened and then the next set of headliners for 2021 were QOTSA, Disclosure and posty? Don’t think it’d be too bad considering with post most likely to have a new album out by then and also Queens

still underwhelming imo, don’t personally believe QOTSA or Disclosure have done enough since 2014 & 16 to bump themselves up to headlining outright

Post would be underwhelming and a boring booking it just cries out for the 16 year olds first festival who weren’t there 2 years before.. for people who have been to the festival 15 years in a row it’s a shitty booking

Would have been very happy with Queens, a band I've always wanted to see. I'm prepared to go on my own for the day to see them next year if need be. Post Malone, while I like him, I think it would have been a very boring booking, just with him having been there quite recently. Disclosure are an unknown to me though, so wouldn't have been thrilled with that booking.

I don't think it's any different to say if you went to see a band on a day gig and then went to see their own arena tour or whatever the next year which I'm sure plenty of us have done and quite possibly seen a very close to same set.

Yeah it wouldn’t be that tho, QOTSA and Disclosure are co headliners at best. Doubt they’d get Postie back as well. If 2020 went ahead I could’ve seen

Dua Lipa/Dave

MCR

Foals/CATB

Or something along these lines

I still think Catfish were only booked to replace someone who pulled out, they were sure they'd say yes as a last minute booking. I don't see any other reason why they'd book someone who are headlining some considerably smaller festivals.

That’s true actually, reckon Foals could do it outright the

I think its probably more the fact of they wanted them to sub but Catfish would only accept headlining so what better time to ask Catfish back than when they've got 6 headliners. It's possibly an ego thing and bands don't want to accept subbing below x/y headliner and don't want to be put in the bracket of co-headliners as it essentially devalues the band to say they aren't quite worth headlining status but they can't or won't be labelled as subs.

In fact, dyou reckon the only artist Catb would sub would be Arctic Monkeys?

Aye, but you say under X/Y band, but Catfish are under Stormzy ffs, surely their ego can't be that big? He's one of the biggest (if not the biggest) solo acts in the world right now, his last festival gig was headlining Glasto, surely they cant believe that theyre too big to sub him...

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
