Do we think the Ally Pally gig will sell out tomorrow? Money is tight this month for obvious reasons, so I'd prefer to wait, but maybe that's a silly idea? It's twice the size of Brixton Academy, have they doubled in popularity since then?

I wouldn't sleep on the tickets but you're probably safe till next payday. Tickets are still on sale and probably will be for a bit.

I normally work Saturday evening and nights and therefore has resigned myself that I wouldn’t be able to see Hot Chip this year.

So ages ago I asked my boss for favourable shifts - even though I don’t like doing this, and last night she posted the shifts..... and......

I CAN GO TO THE BALL ! ! ! !

*** ? ? ? ?  ? ? ? ? ***

Now doing 12:30 till dawn shift and am super chuffed and excited.

I’ve seen them do Other, West Holts and now The Park, it’s funny how they have moved “down” the stages.

I have made my decision to watch Hot Chip. I would not enjoy myself elsewhere knowing Hot Chip were playing and I was not there.

I'd probably put The Park on a level par with West Holts.  Did you miss the John Peel set in 2007?  They've also played the Square Pie stall once apparently!

Other is the only one that hasn't been a headliner.

Yeah I’m 100% in the Hot Chip camp. The only thing that may scupper my plans is that my husband wants to watch Chems.

@ian the worm great news about your shifts! See you at Hot Chip and Let’s Eat Grandma ??.

So you only got to decide over 99 other stages.

As a worker that has traditionally worked Saturdays it was quite a big thing to ask move my shift - before I’d even been given them. So glad I did.

My Saturday now looks like.... 1pm - 5pm work.... Kate Tempest .... Hot Chip..... work till dawn.

Its kinda perfect.

Probably my most looked forward to set. I think they'll steal the weekend. Can't contain my excitement. Looking at the setlist for APE and they did a cover of Sabotage by the Beastie Boys? Inject it into my veins.

Yeah it's part of the set on this tour.

Can shows get relegated to ‘secret’ @Gnomicide? Perhaps they thought Common would be even more rammed than normal so have to make Hot Chip a ‘secret’

Not something I've ever heard of before. I've not looked at The Temple's times on the official site, is there a gap?

Beastie Boys cover was good, but not as good as their Dancing In The Dark cover IMO.

Not sure a hot chip DJ set would be a bigger draw than, say, Seth Troxler or Fabio and Grooverider TBH.

there aren’t any gaps in the common line-up FYI.

I think it would be a much bigger draw, just because of the name and people seeing it as an opportunity to see the band they've just missed for the Killers or Chemical Bros (they won't be though really, obviously).

Agreed, that cover is special.

I asked someone close to the band (who has previously revealed 100% accurate info well ahead of announcements) about this, was told no, just the Park set. So if it's a secret, it's one they're guarding very, very closely. I strongly doubt it but you never know, I guess.

Joe Goddard is doing a midday-odd DJ set in the Stonebridge Bar isn't he? B2B with a female DJ IIRC?

    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
