First album: Remember listening to greatest hits of frankie goes to hollywood and bonjovi a lot back in the day though I think they were my old mans.

First tape: Weetabix promo tape with a tears for fears track on one side and thompson twins `dont mess with dr dream on the other...how I remember that so in depth I dont know.

First CD: First cd I ever bought myself was a `metal mania` compilation album I begged my old man to let me buy as the cover looked cool.....little did I know it would influence my entire future musically, first track was rip ride by venom, it also had motorhead, girlschool and others on it....I was hooked, that was the cd that got me away from pop music lol

First download: not a clue

First 'now' album: Now 33 seems to ring a bell for some reason

First gig: One minute silence supported by breed 77 at the exeter phoenix back in the early 00`s deep in the world of `nu metal` at the time.

I like this a lot, it's like being back on Myspace.

First single: Snow - Informer ;)

First album: Michael Jackson - Dangerous

First tape: The top 40 of the year 1990 taped off radio 1 at New Years. Tracklist was this, think my recording starter around number 31 http://www.uk-charts.top-source.info/top-100-1990.shtml

First CD: Not sure at all, gonna go with Sasha & Digweed's Renaissance Mix Collection because I definitely had it early and it's cool.

First download: Daft Punk gave away free downloads of reworks and remixes with Discovery. The CD case had a credit card thing inside, you entered the code on the website and very very slowly downloaded the tunes. Favourite one this rework of Aerodynamic

First 'now' album: 26!

First gig: I was a late bloomer, think it was Jurassic 5 in Bristol Academy in 2002(?)

First glastonbury: 2003 - I didn't handle it very well at all lol

You going to be there at Avalon?  I went to see my first musical love, The Cure for the first time a few months ago and I thought they were pretty terrible.

Clash dependant, but I'll consider it for sure. I'll know every word to all the old tracks :D

First single: Think it was "Do They Know It's Christmas" from Boots, Nuneaton.

First Album: I used to have tapes bought for me when I was young that it was thought I'd like, but the first one I can remember buying with my own money was "Appetite For Destruction" from Exeter Services, Summer 1988.

First Record: I bought Inspiral Carpets "Life" on vinyl from Eastern Bloc in Manchester, 1990.

First CD: Got my first CD player in 1991 and got "Screamadelica".

First download: Very late to the Internet as I didn't think it would catch on...can remember downloading Dangermouse's "Album" illegally at some point in the mid Noughties and burning it to CD.

First Now Album: I had one with Morrissey and Hue and Cry on. Whichever one that was!

First gig: I was taken to watch the Wombles and the Bay City Rollers when i was 1 at Mallory Park, but I didn't have much say in it. Properly, it was the Happy Mondays at the NEC in 1990.

First Glastonbury: 1994. Took my first E to Orbital. Life changed.

Showing my age, as ever:

First single: T Rex, Hot Love (Or Slade Coz I Luv You), 1971

First album: Led Zeppelin IV (Remains unbeatable)

First tape: Will have been a self-made compilation of some dodgy 1970's stuff no doubt. Still got a box of cassettes in the attic

First CD: I think it was a Dire Straits album.

First download: Plenty of illegal downloads catching up on all the acts I'd missed, first legal download looking at my itunes was Gnarls Barkley's Crazy in 2006

First 'now' album: Happily missed out on those

First gig: Ten Years After, 26th October 1972, The Hard Rock, Manchester...now sadly a B&Q. Thereafter Hawkwind Space Riitual tour and Uriah Heep in the legendary Glasgow Apollo

First Glastonbury: 2003, saw Radiohead, REM & Moby, probably remains my favourite headliners. First band seen was The Darkness opening the Pyramid.

I've got a load of tape singles and albums including stuff nicked off the radio. All sound as ropey as hell. Have replaced the favourites with CDs, but still can't bring myself to just chuck them out. Was surprised to see Royal Blood offering tapes as an option for their new album, surely not going to have the same revival as vinyl.

First single: Rat Rapping by Roland Rat from Father Christmas. First one I bought was Loverboy by Billy Ocean

First album: Dream Into Action by Howard Jones

First tape: Ghostbusters soundtrack (also along with my first 'walkman' which was not a Sony but a Saisho) and tragically also The Album by Roland Rat (I listened to this on Youtube recently - dire). First one I bought was probably Hits 2

First CD: The Essential Jean Michel Jarre

First download: American Woman by Lenny Kravitz in 1999 from Napster. I remember being blown away by how good mp3 sounded considering it had taken only 30 minutes to download via dialup and was free.

First 'now' album: Now 5 on double vinyl (preceded by The Hits Album)

First gig: Simple Minds - NEC - 23/09/89

First Glastonbury: 1993

Age: That should be fairly easy to deduce from the above

First gig: Ocean Colour Scene at Aston Villa Leisure Centre, November 1995, age 14.

I saw loads of bands at the Aston Villa Leisure Centre - used to love it there! There, Leicester De Montford Hall and Wolves Civic were the mainstays of my gigging in the early to mid 90s. As far as i know only the latter is still used for gigs.

    • Would love to have Marina Herlop for the Auditori (new albun out soon, local act, played both weekends in 2022)
    • I do agree to a point and I will just not buy tickets for some things now cos I know there’s a good chance I’ll get some cheap.   also think the quality of a lot of the artists around is just quite poor at the moment, either touring albums from 20 years ago or poorly received  albums    then also this trend of doing 7 shows at one location, people are tired of travelling and there’ll always be spares close to the time
