Metallica was a straight out genius booking. The amount of PR that Glastonbury got in places that never normally show interest, and the amount of exposure Metallica got in places that normally pay no attention to them - a phenomenally smart move by both sides

Terrible music though, best left to the ironic festivals, like Download.

Is all this Macca out stuff just from some random jabroni on twitter?

A women on twitter said it was Macca and now it’s not

Neil had info the Macca was doing BST but someone (who has been getting info for it) said Macca isn’t plying it

Neil had info the AM were approached 2 weeks ago but dismissed it as he thought the 3 headliners were sorted

The replacement headliner isn't a band.

Plus a poster on here, plus Neil heard like 2 weeks ago that Arctic Monkeys had now been approached to headline.

Where's the "it isnt a band" from?

Arctic Monkeys.

The info has come thru a route that definitely has connections, but whether or not the info is correct i can't say.

PS: to be clear, the info was they were asked, not what answer they've given (or even if they've given one, yet).

If they are asked I can't see it being a no.

Suppose it was always going to be someone like The Arctic Monkeys if they needed to replace (I know it’s not really replacing) Macca.

I know Glastonbury sells out but it also has that reputation of being the best festival in the world.  Throwing someone like Mumfords, Florence, Pink or whoever else to replace him would make this year seem a very week trio.

Arctic Monkeys, Bruce Springsteen... ermm I’m struggling after that who make it fairly like for like in terms of size.  So so gutted if it’s true though

Stormzy, The Cure and AM is stronger than those two with FATM...that would look pretty weak although I'd rather Florence.

Works well when you book an act in that genre for that size...there wasn't much difference I don't think tbh between them and Muse last time.

    • Came here to post that.   Not based on any info, can just see it happening.
    • I'm not sure about the entrance but it wouldn't be a surprise to find the festival have secured use of the land from Steanbow who own it for either new CV space, or for authorised off-site camping as they did with Worthy View.  An authorised off-site pitch-your-own with decent facilities priced just below WV would fly off the shelves as an option.
    • Burnham needs to hold onto his seat , plus needs labour to hold onto all those other seats that could go Reform, so I think some blue labour stuff might stay...and it will be back to the tactic of hoping enough left/liberal voters will get behind labour and not go Green in order to stop a Reform govt...obviously wasn't working with Starmer, but might with Burnham if he shows enough leg. Have to see, Burnham is going from a cushty job where he's very popular and seen as successful to probably the most difficult job going, prime minister of this country...and his popularity might not last long when people realise he can't fix all the problems over night. What he can do is give a sense of direction and optimism which is badly needed, but he will also be faced with a whole bunch of nasty trade offs and could be where Starmer is now in a matter of months.
    • Yep, The Cure and The xx are the two most painful misses for me this year. The Cure literally plays at every corner, except the one I attend to.
