Gigs in a week

I am halfway through what will be a record number of gigs in a week for me:

So far:
Biffy Clyro
Red Hot Chilli Peppers

The weekend:
Mr.B The Gentleman Rhymer
Ash
The Chemical Brothers

Any advance?

I used to work at the Academy in Birmingham over a decade ago and once worked fourteen consectutive nights. I was on the management team so didn't actually serve behind the bar, when the gig started I'd just come down and watch.

Does that count?

That's pretty good going! Had a lot of weeks like that when I was at uni and had the time, and tickets weren't so expensive. Got a full on weekend coming up though with Super Furries Friday, a Beatles tribute Saturday and Ash Sunday.

I did 6 gigs in 6 days once, involving Oasis, Placebo, NIN and Kasabian if I remember rightly. That was an odd week. The Enemy was the day preceding as well, but I was taking photos and buggered off after my three songs so I wouldn't count that.

My advice would have been to just go to the last one.

That's a hell of a week, I always find gigs see email to build up this time of year. I've had Pixies and Kate Tempest so far this week, got Girl Band and IDLES Friday and Saturday.

I think the most I've done is 3 in a week. IIRC:

Joanna Newsom - Julia Holter - Foals (2015)

Also had Courtney Barnett - Last Shadow Puppets - Lovebox - Citadel this year if that counts.

Yeah think the most I've done is three (a few times) but at least twice it was consecutive nights. I'm sure I seen Foo's, Smashing Pumpkins then RHCP back to back. Not sure I could now though.

I thought I was doing well...

3 Gigs in 7 days.

But this year's total is looking good.

24 different gigs + 2 where I saw a band twice on same tour = 26 gigs and I've still got two more + the company Xmas party (Fleur East) before the end of the year....

And 3 festivals.

That's 4 gigs up on last year and 1 festival down (I did "TiTP" at the new site - never again).

Next year's a bit thin so far at only 12 gigs bought and 1 festival (hopefully will get Glasto ones in Resale). Might go for IOW or Lattitude if I don't. Will get R&L if Kasabian headline and definitely going for electric daisy this year instead of SW4.

4 in 6 days is the most I've done, was Arcade Fire, QOTSA, Sigur Ros and Arctic Monkeys which made it even better. Considered seeing Frightened Rabbit during that too but thought 4 was more than enough

I've done 4 in a week a few times...last year was Twin Atlantic, Circa Waves, Gengahr and Hot Chip. That Hot Chip gig could also be counted as 4 in the next 7 day period containing them, The Cribs twice, and Editors.

This year I saw Parquet Courts, The Sunshine Underground, Lonely The Brave and Death Grips in the same week.

Levellers tomo.. Not going to drink just do a pill.... £5 a pint is generally the going rate and as I'm skint seems to be the best way to go. Plus I might remember the gig lol
