They played Planet Telex a few times last year, but it seems to have completely disappeared from 2017 sets. Sounded great! Was really hoping it was going to turn up at Glastonbury, but hey ho. jparx
Telex would be great to open one of the encores. Really hope they do Lucky 2nd again. It's just s great way to start a Radiohead set.
sadimmock
Not sure if anyone is interested, but there are quite a few tickets at Face Value for Manchester on Scarlet Mist. A chance for someone to go!

But I know that live it was probably a better experience than the radiohead set. I'm trying not to dwell on it... Im 100% sure you would have way way more regrets not seeing Radiohead for the Lips. Reading that Radiohead setlist and watching it back on iPlayer compared to what you potentially feel now for not attending the FL party in the Park would be a killer IMO. Im still annoyed they allowed these two to clash, especially considering I made the Gorrilaz mistake in 2010, but I have partied with the Lips on occasion; I had never seen Radiohead on the Pyramid; I had never experienced Let Down live; I last went to a Radiohead gig 9 years ago!! (and it was not a great gig) etc etc. Had I given Radiohead up I dont think Id be able to function as a human, what with being so overawed and consumed with regret. Top 3 Glasto gigs of all time for me (in no particular order as I cant do that) - Radiohead 17, Blur 09, Portishead 13

Only way they could have an intimate Flaming Lips experience on the Park would be by having them up against Radiohead. They'd be playing a bigger stage otherwise. OK then Im annoyed they "made" these clash.......... Im simply just annoyed at the clash......... It stunk for me. Really would have loved the Lips in the Park
wedgie
Me and a friend are looking at getting tickets for tomorrow's gig, does anyone know if the 'front standing tickets' are actually in a seperate pen to the general admission? And if so has anyone had previous experience of how much better this makes your position?
Thunderstruck
I have a spare ticket front standing - £75 fv if anybody is interested.

Ah well. No point dwelling on these things. As you say, radiohead being so sensational has softened the blow considerably!
FuzzyDunlop
Very pleased I went to The Flaming Lips on the farm, but I am really looking forward to tomorrow. I have deliberately not seen the Radiohead Glastonbury set to keep as much as possible a surprise.

Looks like it'll cost a fair whack and I can't get a train back until the next morning. Shame as I'd love to go to Manchester tomorrow but can't justify the expense or the annual leave as I'm already going up there on Thursday for AF. If it had been rearranged for Wednesday then that would have been a different story altogether.

Also last time I went to watch Radiohead at cricket ground there were a LOT of talkers so that's something to keep in mind being stuck further back It actually turns out the ticket I got less than FV on twickets that said 'general admission on the listing is actually someone who was going to the original shows so I have a front ticket completely by accident Edited July 3, 2017 by efcfanwirral

Surely there wouldn't be any talkers at their own gig? If you paid for it then you woulkdn't just chat through it all?* *I say that but I did have to ask to blokes next to me to shut up at the Pet Shop Boys at the Albert Hall yesterday. Just yammered through the first 20 mins, then spent the rest of the night Whatsapping each other. Bizarre behaviour.

I guess it only takes someone's friend who went to go see OK computer and the bends to get bored quickly and just lose consideration for people around them after a fair few hours of drinking

This one being a Tuesday, a combination of two gigs that sold out in minutes, and general tickets only being on sale a couple of weeks might make it not as bad. FloorFiller
Fully recovered from Glastonbury now and mega excited for this. Was initially a bit disappointed that we'll probably get a similar setlist to Glastonbury but now I'm well up for it - I want another bangerfest, but with HTDC in place of Creep and and maybe a few other switcheroos. Probably gonna get DID second but small price to pay (and at least it'll be a crowd of Radiohead fans so no winning over needed).

Should be cheaper than getting the train and a hotel.
