didnt someone say that a west holts headliner dropped out, could they have only just finalised d'angelo as headliner.

they also said that Adele wasn't headlining, although they could've just added that Adele bit on.

why he's been held back i have no idea, but i'll definitely wager that his poster placing is so that he doesn't just get lost in the mix and so that people actually notice his addition. the idea of him subbing the Pyramid is madness - there'd be a mass evacuation regardless of who's on after him. can only be a West Holts headliner or if he must be on the Pyramid, definitely not subbing

Of course he isn't sub headlining the Pyramid, that's Radiohead's slot.

How.

Many.

Times.

:D

was d'angelo rumoured at all. cause this seems like the biggest surprise we've had so far. hell of a clash incoming but this is exciting

nope i didn't even know he was touring anymore - thought he'd be disappearing for a good few years again. definitely the most pleasantly surprising booking yet, regardless of it being added to the poster this late on

The idea that acts as popular with your mums and Radio 1 listeners as Paolo Nutini and Ed Sheeran have played lower than sub in the last few years, only for this guy to come along and sub one of the biggest and certainly the most mainstream headliner they've ever had..preposterous

Songkick says he has two other shows lined up - one in April in France and one in October in America.

He'll probably disappear from the lineup tomorrow and it'll never be explained. The Weeknd of 2016.

"D'Angelo do you want to come and play Glastonbury?"

"Yes but I have one request...."

"OK what is it? Need a specific day or time slot?"

"No I need to be added to the poster one week after everyone else"

"ok with your own news announcement"

"NO NO ANNOUNCEMENT JUST ADD ME TO THE POSTER A WEEK LATER THAN EVERYONE ELSE"

"ok ok no need to shout mr D'Angelo, can I just ask why?"

"TO GET MY OWN LINE ON THE THINGY!!!!!"

"done"

To be fair, there were people on here who'd never heard a Catfish and the Bottlemen song this time last year

We sorted that out pretty quickly.

This is probably a good thing...

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.

    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
