Cheers, it's the worry of the rest of my group not paying that's getting me :(

4 have 100% dropped out so don't want to pay until someone else does just incase- that being said is there "refund deadline" or after you've paid is that you 100% going

You've got til May 6th.... If you're unsure, pay then cancel later - you still only lose £15

So I have had issues around work paying me wages and holiday pay owed, the issues have been addressed but it turns out I won't be paid what I'm owed until next Friday. I'm gutted, I have no money and literally no way offering any to pay the balance. I'm at a loose end and have no idea what to do :(

Make the sub you cash in advance, if they screwed up then they should sort it out...if it was a missed morgage payment or bill (you can just say you must have money due to cash flow purposes) they really should help you.

Or ring bank and ask for emergency overdraft due to work situation paying you late, these can be approved immediately I'm sure

Don't go for a pay day loan

do you not have any family or friends who could loan you money for a week?

Excellent advice. The small amount of interest they'll charge you is not even close to the amount charged by payday loan companies.

This is my plan.

Lineup is a fucking joke as it currently stands. Only Two acts that I'd be excited about seems to be clashing already. AARRGGHHHH!!

Line up is not a joke at the moment. You might not like it but that's all about your taste. No line up can cater for everybody. You've been around here long enough to know the first poster isn't the festival but if you are really going to call it a fucking joke just don't join us.

Quite right don't go near a pay day loan co they will screw you up and ruin your credit rating

i've heard that some (maybe most?) mortgage providers would actually reject an applicant outright if they have ever used a payday loan.

obviously they would need to see that you had used it on a bank statement or on your credit file but i really wouldnt go there if you have any designs on getting a mortgage in even the medium term.

It looks like it varies. It's recorded on your credit file, generally loans without missed payments are regarded as a positive, but yeah looks like some providers profile based on the 'sort of people' that take a pay-day loan.

One option if you do have a credit card is to draw cash out on it and pay it back into your account. You'll incur a fee on that but again better than nothing if the emergency overdraft option doesn't work.

You can compare it to a week's holiday, but I suspect any type of holiday will have a much bigger deposit than Glastonbury. With the festival, you have six months to save £180 once you've paid your deposit. The rest of it can be done very cheaply if you're willing to push yourself.

Possible idea for the festival might be the monthly payment type thing others are doing.

I mean you can compare it to anything and it still offers value for money, but its something different to it being fairly expensive even on a budget.

I don't really see how monthly payment plans help at all, if anything the way Glasto does it is better as you only lose the £15 admin fee rather all the money you've paid in if it does become unaffordable because of certain situations.

Wouldn't it be nice if amongst all the worry you got a free/cheap ticket. I went to Glasto a couple of times while unemployed.

Indeed, I got made unemployed a month before last year's festival, and was for a while after the this year's T-Day. Just about managed it, but at your lowest its gives you something to look forward to, a bright light at the end of a very bloody depressing tunnel.

Yes. I was given a visa, visa electron (don't have one of those) and couple of other logos to click on. transaction has gone through.

Cheers for all the replies, I've sorted it though thanks to a couple of absolutely fantastic friends! Literally couldn't be happier, they are my favourite people in the world.

Really glad to hear you've got sorted :)

Glastonbury is the highlight of my year and is definitely worth the money, but I wish they'd just include postage and transaction costs in the up front price of the ticket. It feels like you are being Ryanaired when you come to pay the balance.

£7.75 for postage. I had to sell a spare ticket last week as my girlfriend couldn't make the gig anymore. Was under £2 for recorded delivery to send it to other side of Britain.  Not sure how Glastonbury can justify £7.50.

SEE transaction fee is annoying, but probably can't be helped.

Price of car park ticket is possibly influenced by greedy land owners and an attempt to encourage people to use the bus, but £35 still feels pretty extortionate. People might say you don't need to drive, but I live outside Glasgow. They charge over £100 for the bus from Glasgow, I still need to get all my stuff into Glasgow and when you book the ticket you don't know when the bus is going to leave. Doesn't feel like a viable alternative to driving. If the steep car park prices really are to encourage people to use public transport, maybe the should use the money to subsidise the buses.

That's because Recorded Delivery costs about £2 and gets you nothing more than a pretty sticker and someone to sign for the thing when it's delivered. Special Delivery, which is the secure, tracked method your precious irreplaceable Glastonbury tickets are sent by, is about £7.50 per envelope.

Because it's not recorded delivery. It's special delivery with a value up to £200 which is about £7.50 if you go on the Royal Mail website.

£35 for 6 days parking (Weds - Mon), security patrolled and on rented fields is pretty reasonable I would suggest.

Is there any way that you can avoid postage or booking fees? I know it's fairly standard practice for tickets, but it does seem a little sneaky, especially if they know that you have to pay them.

Am glad they send them Special Delivery though...

OK, I stand correct on the postage. Feel slightly less ripped of now.

I believe T in the Park is £30 for parking and normally everything to do with T is a total rip off.

It's worse than Glasto in almost every way possible. Sponsored by a rubbish beer so you can't take your own drink in, charge you for a program and lan yard with times the bands are on it and refuse to put that information on the website so you have to buy one.

Ran by the greediest people ever, but they manage to provide cheaper parking than Glastonbury.

Admittedly it may be down to Glastonbury having to deal with greedier land owners, but £35 still feels excessive to me.

I have to agree on the parking, it's the only part of it that i really feel a bit reluctant to pay however travelling 7 hours down the country and having my car in a secure parking site means it's the best option available really. It is a way of making more revenue for them i suppose as i'd wager that the land owners have out their rent up a fair bit due to the sewage issue and the festival themselves wanting more people to travel green.
