wow she's not deemed good enough to headline even the second stage? 10 critically acclaimed award winning albums isn't sufficient it seems. What more does she have to do?

Grow a cock presumably.

Hmm they haven't all been hugely critically acclaimed from my recollection. However it is a wonderful and diverse catalogue.

However it is utter shit that she is playing that soulless stage and not even headlining it. Surely Park/JPT headliner or a similar pyramid slot to her previous appearances would have been ideal.

Is there not an interview with the singer saying they're headlining? Plus, as much as people may protest, PJ isn't gonna headline Other. It just isn't happening. Out of those two, BMTH will be the header

no, there's an article with a quote from him saying that they're playing Glastonbury.

the article's writer is the one that says that they're headlining the Other stage. maybe he got background info, or maybe he's just guessing.

you're assuming it's between those 2 and no-one else. I see BMTH as Other subs, and plenty of people, (possibly including you from memory?) have thought that was possible. PJ Harvey could just as easily play 3rd IMO. there are lots of other names being thrown about for Other headliners.

that's not an article to disbelieve on that front.

i didn't say it was. i asked if you had specific info that they're headlining, or if it from that article.

well I hope you're right but I think they'll be headlining myself. stick LCD above them though and that works out perfectly for me

To be fair this site has been pretty consistent on BMTH being Other Headliners on the Sunday for a few months now and a long time before that article.

No offence but if Neil is saying they're headlining sunday other stage, and he is, then I'll believe him. Last year's coldplay cock up aside, which makes sense now, he's never been wrong when so sure in the eight years I've been reading here.

There's more faith to be had in that than some straw-clutching dreams mate. That article is irrelevant. Neil posted about sunday other stage headliners 'no that's bring me the horizon.' so it will be. Unless they pull out through injury or somesuch.

The best info I have for BMTH is that loaded article.

I'm often loathe to believe random press articles. I place my full trust in that loaded article for what it says about BMTH, for very good reasons.

Sell some records, I suspect. 'Critically acclaimed' doesn't automatically translate to a huge fanbase, unfortunately

When ever, where ever they decide to put her, I'm going to be there.

I always find the obsession with stage placement a bit odd. Why can't they have a really strong afternoon for instance? Top loading all the stages just increases the chances of clashing. I couldn't give a toss where PJ is placed, just as long as she playing and *hopefully* not clashing with someone else I like.

thanks mate, I am giving Let England Shake another go at the mo - I was less into experimental stuff then and more into just.... well metal really so that explains why I wasn't into it. It's ok. I will try the ones you mentioned - I know a song I do like by her called Long Snake Moan which I THINK is on Bring you my Love

Tip: Don't look up images of Sheela Na Gig if you're at work or your gran is sat next to you at the computer.

PS It's a great song, though.

will be great to see her obviously...i hope she's 3rd down though. i must admit i didn't know much about 'bring me the horizon' but have seen a few vids recently on here just now and that would just be embarrassing to the festival to have her on before them especially if the children are all there massing up front early waiting for 'bring me the horizon' & the idea of their road crew quickly shooing her and her equipment off-stage to put up a big BMTH exhibit of some sort.

the Bon Iver spot from '09 would be good for her . it's just a tad disrespectful, this bmth stuff shouldn't be near worthy farm, let alone right after PJ Harvey

I tweeted the writer of the Loaded article and while he said that Oli didn't say outright they're headlining Other, he said that several other bits of info he had suggests they have that slot, which match with what Neil's hearing.

Of course, the info that Neil and John Earls have regards to placement COULD be wrong, as it hasn't come out of Glastonbury/BMTH's own mouths, but it looks pretty nailed on.

How is it any way disrespectful? It's an odd placing for PJ granted, but they have just as much right to play the festival as everybody else. What a stupid thing to say

Really happy with this. Any reason Emily has pulled this out of the air? It's not like it's a headliner announcement. PJ wanted it announced? Or did the festival just decide we deserved a bit of info? Whatever the case she'll be great and reckon she'll get a good crowd too.

I've never seen a proper set of hers. Was randomly at the NME Awards a few years ago (2011?) where she got some Contribution to Music type award and played a few songs. Plus she was behind me at a Damon Albarn gig at Queen Mary University a year or two ago. So a couple of strange interactions on the PJ front for me so far.

Holy moly.  Gutted I can't be at Glastonbury this summer,  even more so having heard this. The other stage is the absolute pits. She'll be wasted on there in between radio 1 hit makers.

Nah. She'll be great. She'll totally fuckin' own it, will our Peej.
