Other Stage is a very bizarre place for her.  I was certain she'd be high Pyramid or Park headliner.

Yeah Park Headliner would have been perfect... Even JP headliner makes some sense, given the size of that stage now and the fact she actually played on John Peel and knows how important he was.

Fear she'll get a bit lost on Other.  However Mrs.HoTWire has seen her a few times and says she is one of the best live performers she has ever seen, which is high praise indeed.

someone please tell me an album to listen to please? I remember listening to the one about England shaking I think it was and not liking at the time..... I feel as though I should at least try and like PJ.

Bit of a piss take BMTH headlining above her though

Been looking at her setlists for playlist purposes, if you want to listen to an album she's likely to play something from, aside from Let England Shake, go for To Bring You My Love. As well as Down by the Water, you might recognise C'mon Billy.

Her set will probably be about 60% stuff from her new album, due out in April:

Fantastic she has been confirmed. Can't wait!

Strange to have her on Other if she's not headlining, in my opinion. If x2 mercury albums and critical success for 15 years or more can't get you top of the bill, what can? But then, what do I know.

Will be cracking! I am def. there!

Smashing Pumpkins subbed to the XX a few years ago, so there is precedence for a heritage act subbing a newer one on the Other (even though Pumpkins, XX and PJ are all much better than the turd that is BMTH)

Oh yes, and was it The Pixies before Jake Bugg too? Very odd but I suppose it must work somehow to disperse crowds.

PJ on the other and then De La Soul into EWF on West Holts?

From the Sunday looking poor at one point, that would be an ace way to finish the festival.

Hehe, is this the bit where people start complaining  the lineup is too strong? It's pretty simple, pj harvey is better, but bring me the horizon are currently bigger.

BMTH are at least an interesting booking by Glastonbury's standards, even if they're not for me. I'm sure there will be a few clashes to contend with this year.

Do you people think that nick cave is a much bigger act than pj harvey? I cant get my head round the fact they have subbed the pyramid several times but pj gets this lousy slot.

In terms of popularity with the masses they are about equal arent they?

Or am I just massively clueless about such matters.

I'd say he's bigger, but not that much bigger and her playing is an odd one. Knew she was never gonna headline Other but third on Pyramid seemed a good bet. Fingers crossed she might get a longer slot similar to Smashing Pumpkins

is this actual info you've gotten that specifically says they're headlining it, or just an assumption because they're playing that stage?

Pardon the pun, but it's one to give up the ghost, they are definitely headlining t'other stage

i'm trying to ascertain why we've come to that conclusion, given that their fanbase isn't exactly well represented at Glastonbury, and going by their singles chart positions, they've made fuck all of a crossover into the mainstream really, despite Radio 1 desperately pushing them, so I think they'll have a piss-poor crowd size as Other headliners.

obviously there's that Loaded article from this morning, i'm wondering if there's anything else, or if that's the only thing  we're going on.

Is there not an interview with the singer saying they're headlining? Plus, as much as people may protest, PJ isn't gonna headline Other. It just isn't happening. Out of those two, BMTH will be the header

Whys it a lousy slot? Jamie T got one of the biggest crowds of last year in that slot.

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.

    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
