apparently some Tom Waits fans think that the story behind her song Hello is too similar to the Story in Martha

I can kind of see the point they are making but it's really not enough to kick off about

the STORY? I thought it'd be that the song sounds like it or something. Best get the lawsuits ready for more than 50% of all songs ever written then...

the radio this morning said it was the melody and played the two. vaguely similar, but i'm sure there are thousands of songs that sound vaguely similar to them too. certainly nothing you could say "oh yeah, that sounds exactly alike", from what I heard anyway.

Yeah theres a piano in both songs. Can she not create her own instrument as opposed to using whats been done before? She makes me fucking sick.

she's definitely ripping off Lionel Richie with her first line

No shes ripping off Pink Floyd. "Hello, is there anybody in there".

Or is it The Doors? "Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name".

Either way she should be sued.

thanks for the info, but your previous post deserved to be shot down as it wasn't fully accurate (I've just searched back to check).

What was the previous info given?

Also NICKS, if you're 1000% certain, I'm sure we'd all be interested to know your source

he said (on 14th April, I think it was) that all of Wolf Alice, Alt-J and Royal Blood were playing.

Royal Blood was wrong - and the other two were well-known, tho that doesn't prove that part of his info was guessed at.

Not saying he is correct but I suppose the 3 as listed in this thread aren't exactly unlikely! And Muse Friday, Adele Saturday and Coldplay Sunday (as the Scum said) seems to be a good fit for days.

The scum said Foos on Friday. It's the Daily Hate Mail that said Muse.

Word that's coming out way is strongly suggesting that it's Muse, Adele and Coldplay that Glasto are trying to do, but whether they all actually sign up is another thing. It's still too early to take what we're hearing as certain, as 'what they're trying to do' which we tend to hear about (to some extent) around this time of year often changes for various reasons.

If that's who they are aiming for I will be amazed if it's not Muse Friday and Coldplay Sunday then.  Only difficult one to arrange is surely Adele.

Is there now good reason to discount to the strong Foo Fighters rumour? Or indeed, is it discounted now because of this!?

And it'd be reasonable to assume that of those three, Adele is the one most likely to say no.

I mean, Muse have already said that they're up for it and I'd imagine Coldplay are probably not far away from it either.

Adele is the one with the most obvious reason to say no, but there's definitely reasons why the others might do too.

For example, we're hearing about Coldplay doing stadium shows (which may or may not be true), and if true those other promoters won't necessarily be keen for Coldplay to do other UK shows that might damage the sales of those stadium shows ... and I know that Coldplay have turned Glasto down on exactly this basis in the past.

There's been good reasons come our way to suggest Foos were out for many months, tho there was also a well-sourced snippet which suggested they were in .... currently it's looking like things might have changed around this at about the time of their MK shows in September.

You heard owt more on Fleetwood Mac? They don't seem to be carried in any more rumour pieces than just that Mirror one, but it stating that a Q insider had said it right after the Q Awards did have me thinking it could well be true.

    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
