What do we think the chances are of another secret sale for the Roundhouse gig tonight? Were the tickets released yesterday for yesterday's show only? I only read of people getting tickets for yesterday and nothing for tonight or Saturday so are we expecting one sale per day? I am going tonight but need to nab one for someone else if possible.

I've been thinking, if it happens and they play below Adele, I think it's pretty much confirmation of what everyone's been thinking since we heard the album.  They'd not do it if they thought they'd be back to headline.  This is probably IT.  So I'm feeling happy and sad about it all.

Whoa!

From what someone said that (from something else they said) I think is likely to be true, the announcement will have special guests on it - so probably not radiohead mentioned by name.

Ah, so the saga is (likely) destined to continue.

Logical thinking, I'm pretty sure if they were to continue as a band they could headline next year, or another year, more or less at a time of their choosing. They surely wouldn't take a non headlining pyramid slot if this were the case. Maybe this is it.

They're gonna be around next June even if they're quitting. Just way too few shows this calendar year to draw a line at that.

There were a handful of people outside asking for spare tickets yesterday not having any joy, then there was a rush to the box office to the right hand side of the entrance to the venue then returned celebrating with tickets. I definitely saw at least 5 people who didn't have tickets initially that managed to get them.

Wouldn't read too much into this special guest slot re the future of the band, based on last year this is effectively a 4th headliner. Wouldn't be surprised if the slot reappears next year - they have been playing with regular secret slots for years and I reckon the reaction to the libs last year was good enough to make it a regular thing. It's definitely a USP over the competition to have a secret 4th headline size act

As a quick aside, Present Tense is fast becoming a contender for my favourite track on AMSP, up there with Identikit.

Ful Stop for me. Has so much oomph.

A surprise slot on the Pyramid can have the same impact as actually headlining it. I see more about the libertines set last year than I do Florence or The Who, to get a big band playing a set that's kept secret right up until the point where they walk on stage can cause a huge stir and get a lot more people talking.

How long did The Libs play for last year?

1hr 10 minutes. However bearing in mind the Libs relatively limited back catalogue I'm sure they would've been fine with that. I'd hope we'd get 1hr 20. Bit more than a usual sub, slightly less than the 90 minutes Adele will get

Hi folks

I'm intentionally avoiding this thread since yesterday, as I don't want anything to take away from tonight's gig!

Just a quick one to say that if anyone wants to come over and say hi tonight if they see me, then please do...

- In grey cargo shorts
- Charcoal t-shirt with a silhouetted head on it
- Beard and thin-rimmed glasses
- Standing next to a teenager slightly taller than his dad

Would be lovely to say hello to anyone on here who's there and feels like it.

Defo planning to be in a decent spot for Holly Herndon as I like her quite a lot!

Have a mega gig, guys.

See you on in the thread tomorrow (or possibly at 2 o'clock tomorrow morning when we get home!)

:)

Why would they bill Radiohead as 'special guests' thus missing out on all the publicity and hype about having them booked when contractually there's no reason to whatsoever?

Kendrick Lamar makes much more sense if this is what will be on the poster.

    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
    • Can't see Bimble line up anywhere - am I being dense and missing an obvious release somewhere?
    • Not expecting a tour imminently but Peter Gabriel would fit the vibes magnificently.
    • I have but a very long time ago and can remember nothing about it at all. Which I suppose is a review of sorts
    • Addison Rae has 33m instagram followers, Slayyyter 667k. Also 15 to 7,5 million spotify listeners with Addison's last release being more than a year ago. Obviously these metrics aren't everything, but still there is a big gap in popularity between the two.
