Radiohead touring in 2016

Still not a 100% confirmation but it's getting closer and closer. Even if there is a big SPECIAL GUEST below Adele on the full lineup, I don't think I'll believe it's them until they walk on stage and launch into a storming version of Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors. Christ, if they're busting out all of these 'hits' on their intimate tour just what is their Glastonbury set gonna be like?!

No way Adele is gonna be able to follow that. If her confidence is shaky now God help he after Radiohead have blown everyone away.

hopefully she'll bottle it and Radiohead will have to play a four hour set.

I'm half thinking that the festival shows will be 'greatest hits' affairs. I can't see them walking on stage at Primavera and playing 5 new tracks in a row. Sure they could, it's Radiohead, but I don't think it'll happen.

Perhaps they have bringing out all of the 'older' songs to get some practice in before the festivals. Then the festival setlists will consist of 20 songs, 5 from the new album and 15 from the back catalogue. Minus the likes of Bloom, The Gloaming etc. Possibly wishful thinking, but a festival set consisting of Creep, 3 tracks from The Bends, 3 tracks from OK Computer, 3 from HTTT and 3 from In Rainbows is a distinct possibility.

Thing is, majority of people waiting for Adele will be thinking 'what on earth is this?!' and so her set will be a triumph either way. Putting somebody like Beyoncé on before her would steal her thunder, but Radiohead? Not so much, even if they are incredible

Id forgotten you'll be at NOS, thought you have a roundhouse ticket as well. The possibilities are endless for the setlist, but the atmosphere will be just as reverential as it was last night!

I see what you mean and I would defo agree with you for any other festival but I think glasto is a bit special with Radiohead they'll be a must see for most people there. I suppose a lot will depend on the setlist.

This might be going out on a limb, but if Radiohead play that slot they will have the second biggest crowd of the weekend behind Adele. Keep in mind they would have less competition in a sub slot so it should bump their numbers up.

So yeah, it could be intimidating for Adele. But honestly I think she's largely conquered those fears now and I can imagine playing in front of 100,000 people is peak scary. Adding a stonking Radiohead performance beforehand wouldn't make a difference.

Apparently i watched or read something that she actually asked to play the pyramid so she obviously feels ready.

 

Plus i saw a video of her in Portugal last week and she seemed confident and comfortable

I'm not certain, but it seems likely to be right.

I heard yesterday that the announcement would be 10.30 Tuesday - but didn't post about it - and someone posted the same thing over-night and also said there's a special guest on the announcement, so because the announce time matches, it's likely that special guest thing is right too.

And that also matches with the strong impression I have that the act for that set is a special secret that's been kept under wraps.
