mostly I'm rejecting what that call was saying, on the basis of other things said to me.

At the mo I'm pretty fixed on the idea they're before Adele for a few reasons, with a large one being that no one has a clue who is playing there and that it appears to be a closely guarded secret.

So ... anyone want to try and throw me off that, by saying who'll be playing that slot?

What about Bowie's old band, with guest vocalist(s)

That's not a bad shout actually. They could be holding it back because of the BST 'exclusive' gig.

I think there's more chance of Kendrick headlining Bestival then cropping up at Glastonbury. I reckon Bestival are waiting for BST to pass before they announce him

Ah OK. I'm not that well up in the Bestival news/rumours. He would make a lot of sense before Adele though. Way more than Radiohead :P

Oh god, don't bring Kendrick back into this. My poor heart.

I just can't see past Disclosure. The other co-headliner is subbing the pyramid and they tweeted about biggest show or something.

I think there's going to be a lot of disappointed people in this thread.

What about Tame Impala, Neil?

Care to elaborate on the info that make you think they wont be there?

Seems really odd since they are touring, have a glasto hole on their schedule, and Kevin Parker is already gonna be there

I'm suddenly finding this all very reminiscent of the third headliner situation last year, when an act who had been legitimately discounted came out of nowhere.

I'm trying to think of the most unlikely act who is still big enough to play.

It's Adele. She's got over crowd fright so much, she's subbing herself.

Neil has info to say LCD are headlining the Other on Friday

Disclosure have said they are playing their biggest ever show at Glastonbury (doesn't get much bigger than subbing Adele)

For me..... Points to Radiohead being elsewhere

that or the other way around, I'd guess.

So BMTH playing second from the top? I suppose that does make sense, given there was always the question of them headlining

Could it be BMTH were originally booked to headline, and Disclosure and BMTH have just slipped into place now that Radiohead could be in?

I'd have thought maybe either LCD or BMTH could headline the JP instead. I don't think either of them would be too big for it.

Well I was thinking Macklemore & Ryan Lewis until the poster came out. I suppose they did have a tour still to sell when the poster dropped so they could be left off it, they've no UK festival dates and they're foreign too so possibly harder to pin down.

Tho I wouldn't bet on it being them. Just a thought that came back to me.

yesterday was full of stuff suggesting they were playing, today is a day of stuff saying they're definitely not - I've just had something else, again supposedly well-sourced, that's saying they're not.

I've probably been spending too much time reading the words of you radiohead tin-hatters, cos those two firm denials so suddenly out of the blue on the same day feels a bit too much like I'm trying to be thrown off the scent.

Ahhh! What is going on! Just when everything starts to point in the right direction, we get this fly in the ointment!

Are any of the 'definitely not'-ers suggesting any alternatives to who could be in that pre-Adele slot? (you don't have to drop names, just curious if they are saying definitely no because they know who is playing before Adele).

    • Addison Rae has 33m instagram followers, Slayyyter 667k. Also 15 to 7,5 million spotify listeners with Addison's last release being more than a year ago. Obviously these metrics aren't everything, but still there is a big gap in popularity between the two.
    • Seems like the most obvious choice. Surprised they havent played since 2019 either.

    • Yep it was on my list, id have loved to have gone.
    • Am a relative amateur in the ticket/tech shenanigans and not part of a large group etc. but personally preferred the F5 bashing approach and got through twice in recent yrs (plenty when didn't, mind) - 2023 but it crashed on me at the final hurdle and then again in 2024 where I held my nerve when it crashed again and managed to get.  Think now I am committed to volunteering if doing festivals as that's close to my heart, so happy to help others when the time comes round.   The most impressive I've seen was bus sales in 2022 when 2 mates casually bagged tickets while in San Sebastian, on a phone inside the stadium during a Real Sociedad v Man Utd game!
