Just excited for Primavera at the moment. I asked on atease and apparently their gigs don't sell out in seconds in places like Germany and Italy like they do here, so might follow them around on three dates or so there when they do their inevitable indoor European gigs in the autumn. 

100% Radiohead will leave that weekend free as Thom will definitely be on Worthy Farm in some capacity over that weekend, as might the others. If we're unlucky it will be just an appearance in Shangri-La, but here's hoping for a headline set. 

Quite a bit of noise about Adele not actually headlining, just guesting on people's sets. There's nothing particularly even strong linking Muse in either, so its just Coldplay who I would say are nailed on at the minute.

I wasn't in the country at the time but apparently their 2012 arena shows in the UK went very quickly.

Not true where I'm sat.

I'm pretty sure that Muse on the Friday was a plan that Glasto were working to, as a pencilled-in line-up at least. Whether it got beyond being pencilled-in to be something more certain is what I don't know.

Considering what Matt Bellamy and Chris said about wanting to "play the festival every year if they could" would suggest they wouldn't of turned them down

Yup. It's then about availability, fee, etc, etc. And it seems more likely than not that it would happen.

Hey, as this is the Radiohead thread and we're talking Muse, wouldn't it be appropriate to suggest Muse subbing Radiohead, given the 'clones' comparison of old?

It doesn't look like they're headlining, no, as guessed by the sorts of festivals they're topping the bill at. However why would they be keeping the weekend free, between Iceland and Switzerland on their tour? Unless there are other festivals in England (or Scotland, or Holland) at the end of June that they're playing, you can't deny that it seems like they want to be at Glastonbury for some reason or another.

Thom has DJ-ed in the naughty corner a few times in recent years. It's quite possible he wants to do it again.

But anyway, it's only presumption at the moment that the weekend is free. It might be that other stuff is yet to be announced.

There's not that many other major European festivals on that weekend anyway - not that wise to put your festival on the same weekend as Glasto . Rock Werchter is on a different weekend this year (sometimes its on the same weekend). So a gap doesn't necessarily mean anything. But I think Thom at the very least will be there as he's there every year pretty much. 

They're down for a few of the bigger festivals in the States according to reports, so I don't think they're necessarily shunning the big sized festivals.

I think the rumors of an end of year UK tour could also help their Glastonbury chances as a few recent headliners like Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys both did the same the year they headlined.

Is it a problem?  It's in September, they seem to be doing loads of festivals, would it really make that much difference?

Bestival tend to like their exclusives. Conversely, if Radiohead get announced and not get announced as an exclusive, that would massively up the chances of a Glasto appearance.
