just watching Kanye back on tv for the first time since, i think other than about 5 songs in the middle where he becomes a little self indulgent and loses the crowd a bit, he absolutely nailed it, a set packed with hits and was one of my favourite performances on the pyramid! obviously, if you don't like his music, you'll disagree, but makes a change from the same old boys with guitars!

Wouldn't have betted pre festival that C. Barnett would be the worst thing I'd see all weekend, but here we are. A total shocker.

As for the Kanye autotune interlude....I remember enjoying it. Though I dunno if I'm a reliable witness.

I'm not averse to a 'unique' vocal style, but she was just awful.

The section after I Wonder all the way up to No Church in the Wild was crap for me. Then he pulled it back and was flying up until the crane debacle.

I'd say Noel got the bit about the first half hour being amazing bob on!!

How fucked up were people at Kanye?

I was very.

Enjoyed up until the autotune interlude, after which point I found the rest of it hilarious. One of the most unintentionally funny things I've ever seen.

Didn't he thank his cousin at one point?!

I would have, if I'd gone. Skipped it because the Park Stage seemed a bit big for her sound last year - and apparently same on the John Peel - so the prospect of seeing her on the Pyramid did nowt for me.

The whole "don't vote" business.

That and the 'vote Labour' followed by the u-turn a few days later pissed me off, but other than that it is nice to see a celebrity putting forward their views on things. Says a lot about politics that he is ridiculed for not being an 'expert', when in truth none of the electorate are 'experts'.

I am was absolutely annihilated to be fair.

I didnt even realise he went up in a crane thing until I read about it on here.

Haha amazing!! I didnt really until he was coming back down i just kept saying "this is wierd why is he singing from backstage." And "i cant see him, where is he. Im so confused" Edited by kellly

He deserved flak for that, and received it, but he was clearly widely disliked before that.

True...but his political engagement is a relatively recent turn of events in a longish career characterised mostly by fairly shallow, lightweight concerns - though some of his early prefame programmes where he confronts the neo nazis and soon are quite interesting.

I don't dislike him, but there are plenty of more coherent, consistent voices on the left worth paying more attention to. Even Frankie Boyle is consistently nailing it at the minute.

    • If Werchter pulled in Blink and Foos plus like Sabrina if she's touring and got System if they are I'd be more inclined to try it vs RIP if they got Blink, Foos and System. I don't at the moment, maybe reflection will be different, think that RIP is greatly setup for overseas travelling over. It feels more like currently day festival days with a camping over separate rather than hotel as its included.
    • I think many US people are fed up with the US and have definitely discovered how amazing it is to come to Barcelona for a better experience and way cheaper than back home.   Surely PS doesnt set up a huge commercial festival only to not put in place a system where QR codes can’t be re-used?
    • They'll get Foo Fighters as well.
    • That as a surprise along with The Cure is the best part of the lineup so far.   Probably means though she's about next year again.
    • I also dont think Deftones will tour next year.   But I think RIP will have both Foos and Blink and if SOAD fo festivals that will be your 3.
