Are Ride really as big as people are making out? I say this as someone that had genuinely never heard of them when they announced their reunion.

It could very easily just be me missing a seminal band while growing up.

They just headlined Field Day and Primavera. Make of that what you will.

I was at Field Day. I predicted they would get a fairly small crowd and I think (I was pretty drunk) I was right. I was able to stand pretty near the front, go to the bar and get back in. (However, they were on the Sunday night, so I imagine that a lot of people, especially weekend ticket holders, may have left by then.) They were extremely good though.

Can't imagine anything smaller than the Park. As said before, though, I don't think it will happen.

In the sense that they are a pale reflection of their genre. They're no MBV.

Debatable. you may not like them but there in no way a pale refelction of their genre. If anything the only 2 to survive from that genre are probably MBV and Ride

It's just the single next week, the album comes out at the end of August. I'd love for them to appear somewhere but it's really unlikely.

A mate of mine has spoken with someone very close to the band today at Isle of Wight and he has confirmed they are doing it

Don't know if it's the same as mine (I've got a Samsung), go onto the twitter account on your phone and on the top right you'll see a star in a box. If you press that it should go yellow and the you'll start getting texts everytime that account tweets

They recently closed the Night Tales set at Wild Life and even though it's their own festival I still have a feeling they will pop up.
