The Stooges? To big?

I'm a bit surprised they don't really seem to have been named as a possibility (even before the line up announcement) as they're playing with the Foo Fighters in London the week before.

It's not the Stooges supporting the Foos, it's Iggy solo. Was really hoping for him on the lineup. He'd be amazing for Friday opener but I'd be surprised if it's anyone that big.

Ah, didn't realise he was doing anything but the Stooges stuff at the moment. I'd still settle for that, but I don't really think it'll happen given the last two years offerings.

Chas and Dave..

And it would be friggen awesome

This would be excellent..

Granted, Blur are much bigger than recent openers but I think there's genuine feeling about them playing coz of 'Damon's love for the fest' that people keep banging on about and so they could play a fair few of the new album..

Still don't think it'll be them, can see that sort of reasoning behind it.. Doubt it'd be James, their apparent high fee would scupper that deal and Stereophonics, well, are shit! Could be them

Charlatans seem like a really logical and possible choice to me. Seem to be playing the festival yet weren't tbc. A band which would have a biggish following and in the middle of a somewhat resurgence

    • Generally shorter too, I imagine. 🙂
    • Will that work for arenas with seats? People will have their tickets on their phones and needs to find their seat.
    • Excellent new release from overpass today - well worth checking out.
    • Having lived here for 2 and a half years now my take is that security, safety and organisation are just not a priority in Spain. It's not even exclusive to festivals. It's a part of everything.   Simple example. I'm Irish and in Ireland if you assemble a construction site you have to adhere to a lot of regulations about cordoning off the site so nobody can enter and get injured. Here, you're walking down the foot path and suddenly without any warning you're in a construction site. If not, you'll suddenly find yourself directed onto the road to get around the construction.   Life is more laid back here in general. Pros and cons.
