Headliners 2016

You need a headliner who closes their set with The Perfect Kiss, True Faith, Temptation, Atmosphere/Transmission, Love Will Tear Us Apart and Blue Monday. That is perfect man.

It was a pretty cool way to announce themselves but yeah, that last shot was pretty unintentionally funny

Gotta say, as much as the booking has annoyed me, I'm definitely gonna try and make it over after LCD for the Knights of Cydonia encore - they may not have done anything worthwhile in ten years, but that's a hell of a closing song

Don't they have a habit of starting with Knights? Someone enlighten me please.

I just wish Curtis was still alive to sing at least a couple of them

They have done in the past (on their 2006 tour they often alternated between Knights of Cydonia and Take a Bow as closers/openers) but Knights is more often played as the closer these days, maybe at every show? (I'm sure a Muse nerd will correct me on this)

No surprise really today. Only surprise was that it was at 5:12pm!

Anyway that fake poster that was floating around has gotten 2 headliners right at least as well as ELO. I bet Emily Eavis although happy to admit it was fake was thinking 'how the hell do they know those are playing'

there's some decent names on that fake poster although it's missing the stone roses and its misspelled Radiohead as Adele....:P

Adele to be announced with the bulk of the lineup or after the UK leg of her World Tour perhaps.

If it's not her then it is surely Radiohead.

It's very British this year, either three of the current biggest uk guitar bands. Or two of them and the biggest female artist out there right now.

So... (my cube number hypothesis)

512 is 8 cubed.

Now 9 cubed is 891 which won't work in our 60 minute hours.

But if we go down one number

7 cubed is 343!

I can't imagine the Eavii announcing at 17 minutes to 4 in the morning. So my arousal levels might just shoot up as I wait for my train at 3:43 in the afternoon!

Stay tuned

I found the video quite amusing,

Sunday headliner, look at us, on top of the world, Saturday headliner, stadium rock full swing, now friday headliner - heading towards being an afterthought.

I like Muse and seen them a few times before but had no interest in much off their last three albums really.

Saturday full swing stadium rock?

Adele?

They'd better have something different lined up or I will moan like a proper moaning bastard on here for the next four months.

This evening feels wierd.

Normally if a headliner had been announced that day I'd be buzzing and spend the evening having a listen to some of their music and getting excited for Glastonbury.

I couldn't be less interested in Muse. Such a shame.

Doesn't Glastonbury spend the least out of most festivals? Didn't fleetwood mac do IOW because Glastonbury didn't want to pay so much for them?

Yeah. But they're definitely not paying the going rate for Coldplay and probably not for Muse either. They can get ridiculous line-ups based on the 'prestige' and TV coverage but then there will be some more pragmatic acts that they'll just never get.

For those wondering, I asked my Muse fanatic mate what the story is with Knights of Cydonia and she confirmed they close not open with it.

Haven't seen a headliner yet, not who I would have wanted other than the purple poppet but will be heading to this clashes allowing cos they put on a cracking show. Fingers crossed its a hit show.

This is horrendous news. Goodbye Radiohead dreams, yet again...

as I've said already, the word I've had should be good.

It was good last time matey gave me word and there was no further verification from elsewhere, so until the festival has happened and they've not played, I strongly lean towards them playing.

It could be wrong of course, but I think it probably isn't.

That's good news for Saturday morning

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
