.....I know that Coldplay have "hinted" that it "might" be their last album but it kinda feels like we've taken those rumours and run with them.

What Chris Martin said was "Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something."

.....that doesn't sound like "this is our last album and last tour".

So..... No Chili Peppers (not that it was likely anyway), R&L exclusive.

Not sure that will help shift tickets or if they'll have to give 'em away, give 'em away.

Edited to insert obligatory shite joke.

I was about to make the same joke :(

on a totally unrelated note RIP Mr Scott Weiland - total legend but had any number of drugs related issues. Great live performer, will be missed.

I made that joke on this very thread a few weeks ago!

Those initial names from R&L do not inspire confidence...

Saw that yeah. What a waste. Never really hit the heights he should have.

agreed.

I grew up in the 90s and missed STP really they had basically split when I started buying records.

Least I got to see him a few times with VR.

Anyway back to headliners - lets get Backstreet Boys there damnit (joke!!)

Are we expecting an announcement before Christmas of either the legend or a headliner? Generally get at least someone judging by the thingy.

I dont really expect anything to February now, I don't think any of the other headliners that have been announced have warranted a response from Glastonbury unlike Fleetwood Mac last year.

I don't know what sort of forum you think this is but this is not the sort of behaviour we take part in

such slander will not be tolerated

I think the only hope is for an act to blurt it out. The festival has no reason at all to make early announcements. The longer the line up stays secret the better, from their point of view.

Can we somehow convince Thom Yorke to 'blurt it out' even though they haven't been booked so that EE is then forced to book them anyway?

I'm just hoping something gets announced that isn't someone we expect soon, in such a lull of excitement right now. The excitement of a ticket has worn off and June seems too far away.

They'll want to save the big surprises for next year so don't expect an out of the blue announcement (that's not an ELO hint). Coldplay seems like it's an open secret now so they wouldn't be giving much away by confirming them.

I don't even think ELO would be that big of a surprise with the tour they have next spring.

that wasn't a response to IoW announcing FM.

It was Lionel Richie wanting the world to know, and a mere coincidence with the timing.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
